Whilst there is much to LOL@Souffs, Cronulla should take a good look in the mirror when it comes to releasing class players:

* Robbie Kearns : Considered not up to it, even after playing 75 games for the Sharks. Moves to Western Reds and ends up at Melbourne Storm. Becomes Australia and NSW prop forward (NSW 9 matches; Australia 29 Tests). Wins premiership with Storm in 1999 (albeit doesn't play GF decider due to NSW Origin bonding mishap ruining his season).

* Preston Campbell : 2001 Dally M player of the year; shunted during 2002 and subsequently released to Penrith. Wins 2003 Premiership. Goes on to be a foundation player of the Gold Coast Titans and co-creates the "Indigenous All-Stars" concept.

* Brett Kimmorley : Gun half-back, 2nd only to the Immortal Andrew Johns during his era. Released at end of 2008 for being considered 'too old'. Signs with Canterbury and takes them 1 game shy of a Grand Final appearance in 2009. Sign the equally old Trent Barrett as his replacement.

* Nathan Merritt : signed from a lacklustre (some might even say diabolical) South Sydney outfit, Merritt plays 19 games during 2004/05. In fact, only plays 3 Sharks games in 2005 before being relegated to the Newtown Jets where he breaks point scoring records, collecting almost 300 points in the season. Returns to Souths. Is leading try scorer in 2006, playing for spooners. Has become leading try scorer for Souths with 145 and is in Top Ten of try scorers of ALL time.

* Beau Scott : Signed by Sharks but relegated to Premier League for most of 2006 season. Signs with neighbours St George-Illawarra and goes on to become a Premiership winner in 2010, plays SoO for NSW and even nabs a Test jersey in 2011.

Robbie Kearns: Was part of the every club has to release two players to the storm in 98

Preston Campbell: Anderson played him in reserve grade the year after winning the dally m so he could bring his love child kimmorley hence why he left. I still remember the crowd chanting for presto during games that year

Brett Kimmorley: After 8 years of inept performances the sharks decide to move him on then finally pulls his fingers out of his ass and plays good footy in 2008

Nathan Merritt: LOL

Beau Scott: Meh

Ha ha ha. Every club loses a talent. I think we lost Mansour thanks to Johnny Lang. Ah, oh well. True about Kimmorley. I was going to put in Blake Ferguson but…well…

Blake was told to FO?

He's not too popular eh?

I remember when Mansour was in U20s at Souths. Most of that side is gone now - Peats, Malcolm Webster, James Roberts (Titans now, via Penrith), Vaivai (let go after altercation with girlfriend), Kane Morgan, Starling (at Manly), Haangana (released), Blake Judd (Released). Only have Reynolds now when everyone was telling us Webster, Roberts, Vaivai, Morgan and Mansour were our future back line.

Did you not read the post prior to this!, Kearns had 2 years with the WA Reds and then became an foundation member of the Storm, the Storm were formed from the dregs of the WA Reds and the Hunter Mariners plus a few other Nevilles like Senator Glenn Lazarus Tawera Nikau, there was no agreement that 2 players from every club had to join the Storm.
Super League did have a player draft that saw players moved to the Adelaide Rams and the Hunter Mariners but this was in 1997 not 1998 when the Storm were founded.
Beau Scott : Meh! you say, couldn't believe how well he played for Country V City and then Origin I, I know of a lot of Sharks supporters who turned their backs on the club in the Chris Anderson era when players like Preston Campbell were treated so badly and wasn't it Brett Kimmorley who started Queensland off t the start of 8 Straight when he threw an awful intercepted pass!.

MEDIA RELEASE: JAMES TEDESCO

After much thought, James Tedesco has approached the club this evening and advised CEO Grant Mayer that his preference is to stay at the Wests Tigers beyond this season.

Mayer said “there is no doubt that this has been a difficult period for James and his family but we are clearly thrilled that he has decided to stay with the club. This is a brave decision by James that will undoubtedly show many that his belief in his mates and belief in the club far outweighs all other influences. All at the club are delighted with his decision and we will work towards concluding the terms that were last available to him from the Wests Tigers.”

Tedesco added “I firstly need to apologise to the Canberra Raiders for my change of heart. They have been great throughout the whole process. That said, I never felt totally comfortable with my decision and after thinking it through I realised it would be too hard to leave my best mates. I understand that the Raiders and their fans will be disappointed and I apologise to all of them for making this decision and I only hope they will understand.”

The decision by Tedesco is allowed under the NRL rules.

At this stage James wishes to make no further comment.

There is a queue of players lining up to take the overs deals they are now offering! expect every player off contact to be linked to them now.

For the last 5 seasons or so there has been a 'Cooling Off' Period for players when they have signed a contract but they must exercise it by Round 13?, there has been numerous examples of it over the last couple of seasons, Luke Lewis from Panthers to lol@$ouffs and Nathan Smith from Panthers to Raiders plus Moltzen from Wests Tigers to the Stains come to mind, so there have been precedents!.
