NRL OCT 2014 SuperCoach

Looks like a few close games this weekend.

I have the VC on Thurston 96 points and we both have S Burgess as Captain, will Burgess go large or produce another lowish score?

Also to note we need to recalculate the Prize Pool as disappointingly we have only 18 contributors.

Input more than welcome in fact encouraged.

Its a bit disappointing we have a couple of spots unpaid/unfilled as its always nice to have a few extra $$ on offer. I propose scrapping the payouts from last year of the highest round score, bottom 8 gf winner and minor premier and rewarding those who stick it out for the year and make the top 8.

The minor premier pay is probably a tough one to scrap but from experience if you have the team to finish at the top then you are most likely going to do well in the finals anyway. I do like having the bottom 8 gf winner able to claim their money back as it gives teams in the lower halve something to play for but with less funds it makes it harder to justify and i believe 5th-8th deserve a pay before 9th. The highest score pay was discussed in the group pm (a least the one i was involved in but not sure about the other) at the start of the season and the consensus there was it could go.

I propose the following:

Winner of GF
1st - $200

Runner Up of GF
2nd - $110

Eliminated Week 3 of finals
3rd - $55
4th - $55

Eliminated Week 1 & 2 of finals
5th - $30
6th - $30
7th - $30
8th - $30

1 unfulfilled and 1 unpaid. :(

I don't mind the above (thanks Chris) but also believe the bottom 8 GF winner helps keep th einterest. In past years the bottom 8 GF winner has actually scored better in the finals than the winner. I think if you do away with Minor Premiership we need to keep the GF winner prize money high. I'm not sure about rewarding the teams who bomb Week 1 or 2 of the finals. I don't know maybe:

G/Final winner = $240
Runner Up = $120
Prelim Finalists = $60 each
Minor Premiers = $30
Bottom 8 Grand Final winner = $30

I like that ross, although im all for scrapping minor premiership too. $250 and $150 for the winner and runner up respectively i think

Ross, I like your suggestion best. Money back for winner of the "Donut Cup" to keep interest. I'd prefer to have minor prem $$$ as many may cop out in the last few weeks to conserve trades. Alternatively, use the Minor Prem $$$ for highest rank overall at the end of the comp which rewards overall players which could still be someone in the bottom 8

Last weekend on Aussie soil for me til the first week of the (sc)finals, hoping for a win to stay on top of the ladder. Going to be tough keeping up with the in and outs and last minute changes when all the games kick off in the early hours of the morning.

Still happy to receive feed back only 3 have commented but I'm leaning towards:

G/Final winner = $240
Runner Up = $120
Prelim Finalists = $60 each
Minor Premiers = $30
Bottom 8 Grand Final winner = $30

It keeps all the options in play offered at the start of the year just adjusting the amounts slightly.

I reckon take $10 off winner and $20 off 2nd and give $30 to highest overall rank also. What do others think?

yeah i have 2 accounts one of which i use for an overall comp and then this one which i use for head to head specifically because its head to head so im happy with how ross has laid it out there.

also first loopwhole of the season for me. what are ethics ? dont ask me because i dont know
