I have confirmed via Tip Top's FB page that they have no plans to bring out NRL Tazos in their bread products for the 2014 season.

Disappointing. I hate the haphazard releases of stuff like tazos, newspaper trading card sets, etc. But not much we can do about it.

I think these things will swap hands from one licensee to another and go through phases.

there was a second set of the same cards but 'Gold' editions, raised jersey number and the border is gold foil, you can hardly tell unless you are looking for it much like the 2008 platinum set of centenary base cards

Yeah when I got them back in 09 I had no idea and a few years ago I was told.. apparently they're a lot harder to come by as not people realised there was a difference and were brought out towards the end of the run
It is very hard to tell with the logo Tazo, you only have the border to go by and it's hard to notice in a scan

I think it was one big set released in two parts.

If my memory is correct, they released the firsts subset as well as a rookie player and past legend for each team. Later on a second part of the set was released with a current legend and a trio card.

I'd say the reason tip top aren't doing them again which you can't blame them i reckon is the amount of scumbags that went to the supermarkets not to buy the bread but rip the cards from the bags

Especially 06 signed tazos.
Smiths have wiped all traces of tazos from there factory in Adelaide and will not touch them again.

What are the two sets in 08?

In 08 they released two sets, though numbered them sequentially.

If memory serves, 1-40 and then 41-72 was the second part.
