Hi everyone,

Apparently there has been some discussion around the NRL Traders Wally Lewis Signature card which has led ESP to release this image of "The King" signing his cards.

I personally had no doubt that the cards were signed by Wally and I am aware that all ESP signings have a representative on hand.

Has anyone heard anything to the contrary?

Anyway, enjoy the cool photo!

Cheers
Matt

He is the king, he chooses the location where he signs these cards for mere mortals...

I forgot to add when I was chatting to Terry from ESP over the weekend he mentioned that a lot of top players watch their sig cards on Ebay (IP and inserts) and are well aware of the average value. He said a top player (not named) who got $15 per card last year wanted $25 (again not sure if these were the exact or figures or just examples) this year after observing how much they were selling for. Terry tried to explain that it wasn't ESP selling the cards on Ebay but the player in question wouldn't budge. I suppose this could be considered an example of what IP sig card sellers are doing to the hobby

Also doesnt help when one legend tells the other legends how much (lots) he is getting paid per signature. Now they all asked for the same.

You can't begrudge older players wanting some dollars when they are the 'legends' of the game and many of them earned a pittance.

But if they 'think' they should get X, and don't understand the hobby and secondary market, you can't blame ESP for not chasing/obtaining 'Legend' sigs in future.

However, every time I think of Andrew Johns, I think of how the ARL could have paid and built the Olympic Stadium. Sigh.

I was aware of the rumor, decided to stay on the fence about it im glad they have shown the picture in my mind the card is now worth more, just my opinion.

Does a player/legend decide themselves if they want to sign for card companies or does their management have anything to do with it?

Hadn't heard the rumours and have no idea why anyone would think that.

Looks like a lot more than 208 (lobs hand grenade over fence and ducks)
