FRAUD - ebay member lexiemindyourmanners/lexieevans & baileywest92

Interesting you ask, had forgotten about this until now.

He had 2x high end sigs on eBay last weekend, a 2009 Thurston Captain and a 2009 Cam Smith Captain.

I snapped up the Smith (unredeemed) for $400, but almost knew too good to be true. Asked for some original photos (specifically asked for the Smith & Thurston to be taken in the same picture), still waiting.

Have not paid, do not intend to. The Smith pic they used was taken from Dans site, and the Thurston pic was taken from 888edge.

Too many indicators of a dodgy seller for mine, his feedback of 2 didn't help.

I take it you got the JT for $350, hope you didn't pay for it?

Nah well I got 3 cards early on:

2 x sig redemptions and 1 llb - paid bit over $700 all up..
Paid with paypal though and they were the first of their cards listed.

Just had issues with no contact since then and once I opened paypal dispute I got contact right away via text, through paypal and ebay.
Person keeps telling me they are going to send it but need me to close the dispute so they can get the funds before they will post - in a bit of a stand-off..

Just was seeing if the others had got their cards, or just not paid or what the go was.

Thought it may be too good to be true but thought was worth the crack

Yeah bit frustrating - most of the time when it seems too good to be true with new sellers - I end up paying then waiting weeks for paypal dispute and refund of money as they have taken it and run...

Maybe I'll learn to not risk it so much in future :)

They seem to be doing everything they can to make sure they get away with scamming me:

So far have texted me from 3 different numbers.
Address on ebay isnt where they live (as I asked to collect in qld but they said moved to nsw and hadnt updated address).
Pics from 8088edge like you mentioned.
They told me their ebay account was frozen because of my paypal dispute and they couldnt log in to see my address etc - then when I said this could not be the case and texted my address said oh no its my paypal account thats frozen, cant log in.

Then told me ok will send first thing in morning, lunchtime comes and they say, no not going to send as paypal account frozen and want me to close it so they can get funds first (if I do, they can scam me and walk away).

All to do here I guess is wait and see if cards arrive otherwise wait for paypal to refund.

"but need me to close the dispute so they can get the funds before they will post"

What a load of rubbish lol

Let me guess, once you close the dispute you cannot reopen?
Yeah exactly - pretty sure that is the case and I've told them not a chance I'll close it.

Im not sure what I would have done had they stumped up with a legit photo, probably paid, despite the risk photoshop was used

From my experience, Paypal are pretty good at weeding out bad sellers and refunding my $$

Hey Ben

Ask them for their address in NSW, surely one of us will live close by.

Hey Mark... Would have been fine before I lodged the dispute to ask this but they are making the stance now of not releasing the card at all until the dispute is closed.

I give it about a 1 or 2% chance of being legit sale - everything points to scam but. (Just they picked a unique lot of cards to scam people with)

I've never really been done (lost much) on ebay through scams - always found paypal pretty good in refunding...

Though back when I was 16 - I sold up nearly all of my rugby league cards and sent $2500 for an importing investment of a bulk lot of ipods to someone off ebay :) - turned out my instant money transfer went to some account in Bali never to be seen again... Tough lesson to learn @ the age of 16. As much as it sucks at times losing $$ to paypal (minute though compare to ebay fees), I love the protection they give against dodgy sellers

I would be saying there would be no problem with payment as paypal has it for you. Once you have sent it registered post and I receive them the paypal dispute will be lifted. Due to the fact that you have proof of postage as it should be registered and with my video evidence of opening the postage and that the cards pop out you will receive your payment. This deal will now only happen this way due to the fact that up untill the paypal dispute there was no communication from you. all dealing are covered under the the contract within ebay,s policies.

Yeah exactly what I said to them re: registered post etc and planned to video opening etc

After reading more of this thread There scammers cards will never arrive

Yep thinking so

Fraud complaint to the Police? This may make them take more notice as we all know eBay/paypal resolution is slow and no real repuccusion for these shit bags.

On a similar vein I am so sick of eBay bidders who don't pay or respond to messages etc. it seems to be increasing IMO. I am not concerned about the $$$ but the time wasting and principal of the matter, if you can't afford the item don't bid!!! Sorry to hijack thread

No doubt this turd is a scammer Ben.

You just need to wait for Paypal to refund you now. I would give them a call. You might get the refund quicker if you speak to them.

Yeah paypal have said they are giving seller 10 days to respond/show they have sent the card or resolve.

Just to top it off - a second purshase of just over $100... new seller - they now tell me they won't send until they receive positive feedback as paypal won't let them withdraw the money unless positive feedback received. So telling me to leave positive feedback or they won't send..

Really think I'm done with dealing with new sellers - usually try give benefit of the doubt but wasting so much time with them.

My last message off this second seller (bracau5) - just a heads up in case anyone looking to buy any of their cards..

"Sorry but can't send because I haven't received the money because I haven't got any feedback because this Is my fist time. Sorry"

Have asked for my money back now. Frustrating
