COMC Mailbox Thread

So once they get a card, its automatically processed to be added to your account with 1-3 days??? Sounds pretty good to me if that's the case :D:D:D:D

That's the way I see it mate . Not bad really, 50c extra compared to alternative of $7.00 usd post for one card to AU...

Still saving roughly $2-3 per card we process through COMC

Serious? I found Boderlinx cost an arm and a leg to send over stuff.

My last COMC shipment had 117 cards. That would now cost me $117 to process and then add in $30 for postage (that can take up to a month).

Borderlinx would cost me less and I would have the cards in hand in a matter of days.

I guess for smaller shipments COMC still works out more economical but if im on a set chase im going to have to go back to borderlinx (even though i would prefer not to).

They all purchased via ebay/external sources? COMC has $3 flat processing on purchases made within the site (I know it costs more for the processed cards) and you can avoid the $1 processing by buying cards needed to complete your sets on COMC.

All external.

I just think that if they are concerned about the workload then why not have an option where it's purely a forwarding service..... No processing for listing on comc, just submissions pics and total items or a discount for packages with 5+ or 10+cards to make group breaks still appealing...

Agree. It's absolutely pointless taking a picture of my card I received (although I like it) and then processing them all and creating me an excel spreadsheet with the BV etc. It's nice but I would pay 50c / item for COMC to open my marked mail packages and just dump them in a 'port' and email me when each one comes. Skip the excel sheet, skip the pictures and skip the inventory selection stage.

I don't mind paying $1 per card but at this stage there's no other options to select from at COMC. The above option at say 50c or even lower would be great.

Hey @Moe@COMC
I was talking to you last year about a item of mine you received and confirmed that you got the package and said you would check with your mailing staff but I never got a pic of it and the card still hasn't been sighted and no reply from you

What happens in this case when u lose my card is it my bad luck or do I get compensated in any way?

I have bought another one anyway but seeing you new price rise I'm getting a bit concerned if you are looking after us all here or is it a money grab your service isn't getting better it's worse

I had my package delivered last month for 180 cards I paid $190+ for express and paid for toploaders on my high end cards and none of them came in any

I knew it was too good to be true

Am I reading right there is also an automatic 20c shipment fee when processed for cards received in toploaders which would make it $1.20 per card?

Hey there! Remind me of the conversation - I'm trying to find it but my searching skills are lacking. Was this a Mailbox card; if so and if it was received by us, then it should either still be here or have been sent to you.

And, what was the transaction # for the order that came without toploaders? If you paid for toploaders but didn't get them, then I'm very sorry for the inconvenience, and I can reimburse you for the supplies you didn't receive.

Drop me a line at staff@comc.com and let's get to the bottom of this, ok?

$1 for processing into the port, 20c for it to be put in a toploader. I believe you have the option to not have it shipped in a toploader to avoid the 20c

Sorry, you guys are talking 2 different things, and I didn't mean to complicate things.

Processing into the mailbox is $1/card...shipping from your inventory is $3 + $0.25 per item + $0.20 per toploader.

We've just announced some changes to the Mailbox, coming up later this month - "You may continue to have items sent to “COMC Mailbox C/O [your account name]” and we will process them in 1-3 days and add them into your account for $1/card with no minimum. Items will frequently be scanned in toploaders, and these items will be subject to an extra $0.20 shipping charge."

I hope this helps.

I can get 10 cards sent to Australia from single ebay sellers for approx $70

I can get 10 cards sent to COMC from ebay to Australia (in toploaders) from 10 ebay sellers for approx $48-$52

It still works out as a saving and I don't have to buy at least 10 cards per month to get the $5 minimum.

Would I like it to be 50c per card without the $5 minimum? Yes. But in the current climate it's the best option we have dowunder and the toploaders that come in are pretty sweet!

It would seem to be a pretty marginal saving Ben.

I guess it comes down to what the ebay seller is charging you for postage and how many cards are in each package from that seller.

Agree. However, I will always buy the cards that either have free shipping or $1.69.... most you can usually spend on US > US shipping is $3.95 to save a dollar via COMC

Okay - but back to your example. If i buy 10 cards from say 4 difference sellers that are going to charge me $7 each to send to Australia im better just getting them to send them to me directly no?

Your assuming that everyone will only buy a single card from a seller. I often look to buy multiples where i can to save on postage from the seller.

Shipping fee US > US = $3.00 approx average
COMC fee processing $1.00 per card
COMC shipping processing per card $25c
COMC shipping fee for lot of cards approx $1 per card (priority - have used twice!)

approx $5.25 per card compared to sellers who either wont ship to AUS and if they do they charge $7-8 per card.

Just my calculations based on experience over 3-4 months of using it daily!

Right - so total cost from COMC is $52.50

What if those 10 cards i buy come from 4 different sellers (ie im buying multiple cards from sellers)

$8 per package to australian x 4 = $32

Thats $20 cheaper just to get them sent direct.
