Official 2013-14 NBA Regular Season Thread - SPOILERS!

Boozer is a great player and worth his contract IMO they gets a dub dub a game basically compared to other PF who avg that and look at there wages

Bulls are dumb if they do I'd take Booz over Melo alone

I thought he was overpaid but still a double double machine so didn't think of him as a amnesty candidate
They also save 6mil on the bynum contract and 14.3 from Dengs.

From one of the articles :

Assuming a Carlos Boozer amnesty is also on the horizon after this season concludes, the Bulls will cut another $16.8 million off of next year's cap figure. That'll not only help them avoid the dreaded repeater penalty for serial luxury tax offenders, but it could also free up enough money for them to pursue a high-caliber free agent on the open market.

So that will have the Bulls and LA loaded for FA, who else has the coin to make a big move?

Lakeshow needs to get rid off Pau's hefty contract :(, we need cap space since Kobe's taking up most of it and a nice pick in the draft like (EXUM ;)) would be nice for the Lakers to build their future. As much as I love Pau and his devotion to the club even through years of trade rumours where he still played like it was nothing, but he has to go for the future of the lakers sake.

Bulls clear space, get out of luxury tax, get draft picks and put themselves into a postion to tank and make a play for Melo and anyone else they think they can land....

Also, heard numerous reports that Chicago has openly saod they'll amnesty Boozer at the end of the season... Not confirmed though.

Read 3 different reports (none confirmed) that Melo has said he'd be willing to go to Chicago if he left NY.....

I'm not a Melo fan by any means, but it makes me wonder, with Thibs coaching him, Rose running the Point, Noah and Gibson in the paint and Butler there to he would pull his head in a bit and imagine the scoring load taken off of Rose' shoulders...? Im not 100% sold on the idea but it would be interesting to watch and realistically probably the best we'll do for a while....

That's what all the rumours are saying...... but any thoughts on maybe another #23 coming to the BUlls??????

Lebron is a free agent (Player Option) at the end of the season as well!

The Bulls potentially will miss the playoffs (or just scrape in - currently 6th in East) - meaning lottery pick for them.
The Sacramento Kings’ first-round pick they got in this trade, which is top-12 protected in 2014, top-10 protected from 2015-17. So meaning they could have their own lottery pick in a stacked draft, plus Sacramento's.

They'll amnesty Boozer at the end of the season so they will have plenty of cap space to play with.

Def spot on there :) The Bulls are making room for someone but who??? It is a so called Super Draft coming up at season's end so can be some great times ahead for us Bulls. I will miss Deng though he wore the red, black and white with pride.

Deron Williams will miss the Brooklyn Nets' game against Golden State on Wednesday after receiving treatment for his chronically injured ankles. Williams was diagnosed Monday with a sprained left ankle, and the Nets said he was treated with a cortisone shot in the ankle joint. He also got platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections into the lateral ligaments of the ankle. USA Today Sports - See more at: http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm#sthash.bq1F9Bxf.dpuf

Bynum is expected to clear waivers and become a free agent by the end of the week. Though he was suspended by the Cavs for one game for conduct detrimental to the team and excused from team activities, he is expected to be chased on the open market. The Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat and New York Knicks are among the teams expected to consider offering him a landing spot. In addition to their own draft pick, the Bulls also own the Charlotte Bobcats' 2014 first-round pick if it falls outside the top 10. They also own the rights to star Spanish forward Nikola Mirotic, who they hope to bring over to play next season.

Just a scenario :
Bulls miss Playoff = lottery pick

Sacramento pick from this trade - unlikely as they will be a lottery team. If by random chance #13

Bobcats pick above = currently 7th in East. Likely out in first round of Playoff. so a pick somewhere in the 14-20 range.

Potentially they could have 3 picks in the top 15 in what is considered a very strong draft.

If sac is a lottery pick and the Bulls don't get it. They could even package the other two (their own lottery pick and bobcats14-20) for a top 5 pick.

So in my ultimate scenario -
B Bulls end up with high draft pick (could be own lottery)
Draft Parker or Wiggins

Leaving :
Noah
Gibson
Parker or Wiggins
Lebron/melo
Rose

I'm sure plenty of free agents would sign for less for that opportunity. (obviously at the f/c spot, but lots of cheap ones available - baynes, Blair, maxiell, hawes, kaman, Aaron Gray)

Does LA? I thought that s part of the reason for the bynum gasol rumours
Im pretty sure Gasols contract is over at seasons end isnt it? As far as i know LA only have Kobe, Nash and Young on the books for next season i think and everyone else is either out of contract or player/team option. So with LA giving Kobe far to much on his last contract they will still have enough room for 1 major FA and a couple of other pieces plus whatever draft pick they end up with. Even like to see them trade Gasol for a first rounder.
