2014 dream cards for NRL

Great thread.......Ok here is a question for you.....

What about high end cards.....the more I think about it game used or 1/1 cards wouldn't work in NRL.....but for high end cards....what would you want in a set?

Cheers
Matt

I think the Young Gun set has an excellent selection. The bulk of the players represented are permanent first graders

But then you look at all the star players that have never had a signature. I'd rather have signature of players that are stars now, if a young player is good enough he will get a sig in future sets. I just find it crazy that players can be regular state of orgin players and never get a sig card. Yet player that have never stepped foot on a NRL pitch have cards.

Fair point. I think that for the aim of that particular set the player choices were fairly reasonable.

In a high end release i would love to see dual auto signature cards (examples- legends of the club, brothers, father and son, rep captains (both origin captains on the one card) or as someone already stated captain and coach). I would also like to see some other players as well (players that aren't necessarily the superstar in the team but still an impact player), that don't have a card (examples- Mannah, Nightingale, etc)

Family cards. Generation gap sigs. Reg Gasnier and Mark Gasnier, Rod Morris and Josh/Breatt Morris, Wayne and Mitchell Pearce, Rod and Joel Reddy, Craig and Dean Young, It would be even better if you could get a triple sig Grand Father/Father and Current player. Black and white photo for past generation and a colour photo for current generation.

This won't be popular with the NSW lads but I would live to see a high end insert to celebrate 8 series in a row as it is highly unlikely this will ever occur again. Can you imagine a triple sig with Mal, Cam Smith & Locky to commemorate this?

P.S. even better old school remakes. eg. A current player like a halfback doing the exact pose of a players card from the same club from the 70s or 80s

Just a random thought and not completely thought through but I would love to see a community "Men of League" insert released, where there are 1000 inserts cards (bad example below I'm sure someone with talent can improve this but I like their logo). These cards when sent to M.O.L with $25 donation (to be kept by the foundation) entitles you to a signature of a random member / player. the card returned with a C.O.A., gold embossed or with a hologram or similar, perhaps you could nominate the Club you support. It would raise good money approx $25k for a great foundation and be a great gesture from the card collecting community.

Stuff ESP perhaps we should go direct to MOL with this idea to raise money for them........

Please note copyright pending on this idea.

i like the idea off future stars amd young guns sigs things i would make difference in the second series is have 12 a team but different players to first set, but u could use ure top end players from the first set in the inserts eg triple threats and fast and furious therefore they still in the set but as higher end cards

Everybody has an opinion and from what I have read all good ones. I would like to see mascot cards from old mascots to the more modern mascots. Think these would be awesome in a hologram/motion style. We have seen mascot cards before, but can't remember seeing them in any nrl series recently. Just a suggestion.
Personally, high end cards like signatures really don't interest simply because I cannot afford them. I'm more of a base set person and the lower end inserts person.

What the hell has Rod Morris got to do with the Morris twins? You've been living in Queensland too long:p But on a serious note, would love to see more SOO and Australia sigs, maybe even some from World Cup

I like the idea of more state of origin and australia signature cards even thought I probably wouldn't be able to afford them!
