ESP Limited Edition 2013 (Info Updated 04/10/13)

Honestly I think the market has been overvalued for quite some time. The $600 you'd get for one of the Select /100 signature cards in their series two releases was crazy money.

I do agree that the Elite sigs will increase in value over time. I think ... not 100% sure though ...

Biggest issue with the Elite sigs is all the clowns on ebay listing them at giveaway prices which is forcing the price down. Hopefully once those guys are out of the market the price of these will pickup.

The reason I question it is that if ESP continue to release such a large amount of quality sigs in their series two each year, I don't know if the prices will ever head back up again?

Personally I don't even see that as a terrible thing, but I'm a team collector, not a dealer.

They should take a drive back in history and have a look at the unfolding of dynamic marketing.

I have been reading what collectors have said about this new deal on offer from ESP.
I know I am going to get shot down for this but overall this is where it is hard for a dealers.
I dont expect to get any sympathy here, but I will break it down for you to have a look at theses numbers as a shop.
If I buy one of this new ESP deal the case plus a set of the 33 cards.
Theses cases are on eBay right now for $1250 without the extra set.
With the cost of a case and maybe sell for $1250 I would need to sell 8 cases just to cover rent for one month that not insurance, electricity, travel, phone and Internet.
How many dealers who are on here or even eBay will sell 10 cases a month just to cover cost to run a shop.I no their will be people who will say its your choice to have a shop but otherwise where do you go to buy what you want.
I do have to admit I do like this idea that they are trying but it's now December,Christmas time no hope to sell this if it came out in early to mid feb as a nice lead up to get people in the mood again to collect this may work.
Next year I do believe is make or break for the NRL as jerseys being 160 and most clubs having at least 5 jerseys so if you have to have one of each jersey that $800 to start with.
Next year you will see a lot of people selling their collectings to get by and mark my words you will lose 10% of dealers not only on eBay but shops as well.
I do beleive that the first set next year needs to be a set of commons just so they kids can start collecting cost no more than $2 a pack.
I said to someone today in my shop that the AFL keep growing and unless the whole of the NRL gets back to looking after the fans it will be to late for the game.
This is where the crunch will come that I am starting to stock AFL cards and other items it will be taking away space for me to display NRL gear,I hear on here all the time when I have items but that shop stock, unless the shops and sellers on eBay and website get the support their will be nothing around to even collect, because you will be buying it for 7-11,newsagencys servos.
After another phone call today as to why theirs every chance I will not take up this offer from ESP,their comment was why would you bother with cards.

Gday Corey, Id hate to nbe a shop or dealer, Cause these card making companies dont seem to be doing anything to help you guys.
Just a quick question regarding 2012 cases, What chance are you of selling a said case at$1250 if there is only Say $600 value in it?? As we all know how these cases are layered, if you understand what i mean?

Rey

Hello Rey.
I do understand what you mean,it s@xs to be a dealer on this or because the bonus set as a dealer I would pay around $150 to $200 for its.
But not if I have to buy a case of 2012 ESP limited edition cards thou.

I've obviously come in late but ESP are asking that we pay $1250 for a case of 2012 Limited Editions with a card market value of around $600. You have to buy 3 cases to get the 3 different sets and signature cards, so that is $3750 outlay for a possible $1800 return = net loss of around $2000 (or 3 x Limited Ed sets for $2000). Sounds like a great deal. Should sell out pretty quick. While I'm sure there will be a couple of takers, I wonder what ESP are going to do with the other 495 sets?
Wait, I have an idea!!! Why don't they release something cheap & crappy next year, charge about $2500 per case and you get a free box of 2012 Limited Edition PLUS a 2013 Limited Edition set. Probably shouldn't give them ideas though.

Haha I totally agree with u? I'm sure they wil come up with something like that? I really hope they get stuck with the other 495 like u said? ESP realy don't deserve to have the rights of producing cards? Cos they couldn't care less about the collectors

This 2013 LE release should be referred to as the 'Clayton's' release you know, the release that is there that no one gets.

Is the 2013 limited release out?? I'm late to this set and don't know anything about it. Is there a checklist? Or more importantly is there any Raiders cards in the set? :)

I just read there is a Reece Robinson signature card in the set. Anyone have it that wants to sell it to me and any other Raiders players cards that might be in the set? :)

Hey Jarrad

Just a joke mate. Have a read back through the thread. I don't think they will see the light of day at this stage.

Hey Jarrad, don't give up mate. I'm sure you've heard the sayings "a fool and their money...." or "there's a sucker born every minute". There's still hope.......I think.......actually why don't you just forget the whole thing, Mark's right they probably won't see the light of day. Sorry, I was trying to be positive but I just can't get there.
