First Flawless Break...thoughts?

I agree. I'm not a fan of much of the high end stuff, but that Penny in Gold would be nice to own.
That's a pretty solid break. Surely it has to pull close to even?
$2k in there I reckon.
This stuff is real nice. The only thing I don't like, is the white background which Panini have flogged now. Nat Treasures is now worth even less than what it was.
The base set looks collectable too.
This weekend is going to be interesting watching all the busts.

I suppose it will come down to how many haters there are. I would have thought that the cost of them box/case wise and exclusivity of some of them will push prices higher. If the ebay linked Penny sells I believe the case is paid for right??!! I actually said that those 5 cards would have gone a long way to covering costs. Don't forget that there's a Lin patch, Barnes patch, Waiters auto, D-Rob auto, Payton auto, Drexler patch/auto and Dumars patch/auto. I reckon that has to break even at least. Needless to say it's going to be very interesting to see what these cards do go for on the secondary market. I can't say I've ever seen a set that has divided so many people!!

If that penny sells for that price, of course it's covered - yet we know most sellers will set a ridiculous BIN price just to get a better offer. You gotta remember that the initial prices for individual cards when the product is new is higher than any other time. If the seller wants to get their cash back, this is the time. Like I said earlier, this has the exquisite price tag on it, but doesn't quite have the same feel to it. With the similar white background looks to NT, that might make the price for individuals a little lower also.
Looking more and more at that case break and I could see them selling that for $3k easily, especially as it's the first out.
And there will be better cases for sure.

I think the worst cases will still yield at least half your money back. That's not too bad, there's a lot of gamblers that would take that risk.
