guys all i know is that way back in 1996 these could only be won through the Dynamic card club as a prize , the rest is unknown? And as for the letter of authenticity been dated 1996 for a 1994 release card this was a normal thing for Dynamic as for example if you sent in x amount of wrappers for a 1996 MVP Signature card of whom the the player you wanted , sometimes Dynamic dated these January 1997 and so on...

just something i noticed with the player checklist. i did the search for michael gordon ... it had everything accept the 2007 champs cards. might be as simple as a spelling error or something and thats why the database didnt pick it up, anyway just thought let you know.
ON topic: really nice card, first ive seen of it as well.. what do they usually fetch?

Mate I'm only going on memory but I'm pretty sure no Dynamic had a water mark just the intrepid did !
I might be wrong can anybody confirm this because I've got shit loads of intrepids with the water mark but my dynamics don't have it there all from 1994-95 years I've just noticed any certificate in 1996 onwards have the watermark
Hi DK , i just double checked the certificate that come with this 1994 Series 1 Johnny Raper signature card and it is not a reprint or fake of any kind. It is 100% authentic so only god knows what Dynamic was doing and thinking at that present time in reguards to off loading signature cards as prizes or promos? All i know is that this J Raper signature card is ultra hard to find and was from one of there comps they had running and a friend of mine was the lucky winner of this item in which i received from him at a later date. Dynamic were also giving away 1994 Series 1 collector card albums hand signed by Mal Meninga limited to 15 copies of each with certificate numbered 1 to 15 as prizes in which I have pictures of these in one of my Dynamic magazines and they even explain on how to win a folder [So i am guessing there are alot of crazy items out there from Dynamic between the years 1994 - 1996].
PS I ALSO HAVE THE COMPLETE SET OF 5 1994 SERIES 1 GOLD SIGNATURE CARDS ALL WITH CERTIFICATES FROM DYNAMIC MARKETING DATED THE 6TH OF DECEMBER 1994 [ALL SIGNED BY LINDA JOANNIDES / HENRY LAWSON DRIVE PEAKHURST].

There are no water marks on the 1994 series 1 and series 2 ones DK.
I cant explain how those Johnny Raper signature cards were given out but i can answer what happened here.
Im 1996 Dynamic had money problems and were on the verge of going broke. So in an attempt to escape creditors and keep trading they just started Intrepid and commenced trading from that company. I was a loophole in the laws that has sinced been closed. But that is why the certificate is issued under Intrepid for that set.

after 18 months of not thinking about cards i decide to come back to find this post. ive got the 2008 centenary set and the only other thing i collected was 1994 cards, and i was quite happy thinking i owned pretty much all the cards from that year. this is was of the most awesome discussions ive seen. so thanks to you all
