backend contracts must be fair i.e,this is a simple example, if a player is worth $500,000 a season lets say, you want to sign him up for 4 years $2m contract, you cant give him $100,000 for the 1st year, you have to be at a reasonable price say $300,000, its up to Schubert what % it has to be...

Shown what, because I'm having a discussion I have my back up, no need to attack the man, keep to the topic, you make statements re back ended contracts, when your proven wrong (facts provided), you reply attacking without reading them, so I will say this again, the Gasnier situation is allowed, you can backend contracts ALL clubs do it, you pay for it down the track, other clubs do it and atleast when they back ended those contracts they still have the player, we didn't have Gasnier for the last 2 years & we could have used him we paid for that...
The whole point of the discussion was the amateur attempt at the NRL to run the game, by changing rules, why change it??

you got him that season for peanuts and he helped you to a grand final for next to nothing. yeah your paying for him now, but so what you got the premiership. why do you think bennet took off as soon as possible, he knew that the club had run themselves into the ground because of it.

Geez he was signed within the rules of the salary cap, we didn't get an exemption, FMD what's so hard to understand, we had money in the cap he was signed with consideration that there was less than half a season to play and what he was worth, he played approx. 12 games the whole season, was signed before the 30/6 deadline, was signed as we had money in the cap and it was fair, sure he helped us win a GF.. the signing of Gasnier didn't run the club into the ground, combination of what Bennett/Doust did by signing all our older players to long term contracts did the majority of it, Gasnier was just part of it...

Again your facts are wrong he didn't retire after the GF IN 2010, he retired at the end of 2011 FACT, you base your discussion on inaccurate information, or just what you want to believe....

He clocked off in 2010, made it official and 2011... And was still paid for his short paid worth in 2012!!

And all legal & part of the salary cap, once again no exemption for the Dragons, this option is available to all clubs at the start of the season all clubs are aware and backend contracts, we followed the rules, simple as that...

Tigers Rumours : shopping Blair around again (2 interstate clubs interssted in him), Anasta will be told to retire, Moltzen will be told to piss off as well, maybe he can follow Benji to Union...

You must be clutching at straws to think that Luke Brooks won the game against your side on his own, yes he had a fine debut but realistically your side is a 'little' worse than ours, what's really embarrassing is that both clubs have been beaten by Parramatta in recent weeks after having seemingly match winning leads!.

Dragons 14th Tigers 15th..........Both crap but I think you guys are a little worse than us.
