Hey guys, quick question.

I have never received a fee for receiving paypal gift payments until a week or 2 ago.

I was paid $300 as a gift from a friend. However $7.50 was taken out in fees?

Tonight I was paid $280 as a gift from the same friend. And again a $7.02 was taken out as fees.

Now I receive regular payments from this friend. And I have received 2 smaller payments in between these larger ones of $25.00 and $50.00 with no fees taken out at all.

I also know that these were paid as a gift as there is photographic evidence.

Has anyone has this or know why I have been charged a fee for accepting these gift payments.

if they have paid by credit card a fee is payable to paypal.... there is a check box next to the fee to indicate if the payee pays the fee or not....

looks like they had it unchecked so the receiver pays the fee

Spot on.

Thanks guys, I've just got off the phone with paypal.

They were actually very helpful, my friend for some reason over the 2 larger payments actually did pay as goods even though she meant to pay as a gift. I don't know how this happened as we have screenshots that show otherwise but anyway, paypal have refunded the fees to my account.

I was very impressed with that.

Thanks for the help guys.
