@AlexKennedyNBA: If Adam Morrison's NBA career is over, he played just 163 games and recorded just 28 starts. That's hard to do as a third overall pick.

News on Greg Oden

Six teams are believed to have scouted the 7-footer — the No. 1 pick in the 2007 Draft who has played a total of 82 games in six years due to multiple knee injuries — in workouts in Oden’s native Indianapolis, including Miami, New Orleans, Sacramento, San Antonio, Atlanta and Dallas. Agent Bill Duffy declined to reveal details, but said contract talks have ranged from general conversation to more specific terms, as the teams consider both the rewards and the risks of signing a premier talent whose body, thus far, has been unable to withstand the rigors of NBA play. “Physically, he’s awesome,” Duffy said Friday afternoon. “We’re very happy with where he is. The Denver Nuggets have reached agreement on a three-year, $14 million contract extension with restricted free-agent center Timofey Mozgov, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. The deal will include a team option in the third year, a source said. An opportunity for Mozgov to play a significantly increased role with Denver opened because of a draft night deal that sent center Kosta Koufos to the Memphis Grizzlies. Loving the Pacers picking up Scola for only Gerald Green (who was not going to get any time at all), Miles Plumlee (who may have got a very small amount of game time) and a 2014 lottery protected draft pick (ie pick in mid 20's), so in other words Pacers gave up next to nothing for Scola, who now gives our bench a low post option, and continues the significant improvement of our bench over this off season. Well done Larry. Supposedly Bird has been a Scola fan for a long time.

So have any of the contending teams in the East (Pacers, Chicago, Nets) improved enough to beat the Heat in the East?
