2013 ESP Elite NRL Cards Thread (Updated 5/8/13)

I'm happy with all the Knights cards apart from the Future Star - should've gone with Clydsdale! Holden Cup captain who has already played a bit of first grade.

Canberra's sigs are funny, Milford is a better pull than Shillington!

ahaha was thinking the same thing in regards to the raiders

Bugger another bronco rookie sig that won't be a bronco the following year. Was really hoping for a Francis Molo, Ash Taylor and Oates.

AAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGGGGGGG!!!!!!!
Can't open the file on my laptop.
Can anybody tell me who the 'dogs Rookie is ?

What a joke half of the future force will never really be known. Buderus prince shillington sigs lol. Not to mention as a doggies supporter Keating/turner haven't really played all year and even got taupau in there!!! Brown! None of these should be in the 9... Definitly lost interest in collecting nrl cards. Even dynamic in the 90's had more thought for fans/collectors, this is just about making money for esp... Who suck at nrl cause they know sfa!
Did these guys try make cricket cards once??? Lol

On a positive the Triple threats are well selected and most of the league sensation sigs look pretty good.

Thanks mate, not too bad. He's shaping up as a decent prospect but I'm still not sold on the validity of putting these guys on a signature card. Let's face it, Holden Cup is not that popular with most NRL fans and certainly not with card collectors.

Im stoked. People can be negative all they want, it doesnt matter what gets produced there will always be people who whinge and say its crap.

When was the last time we had a series with such a high calibre of signatures with such a limited run? And the U20s signature range is a great idea IMO, its something different.

Everyone wanted Select to think outside the box, now that ESP are doing just that, people are uncomfortable being outside their safe little box.

All Rookies have a flat rate that they get payed for signature cards. They don't get to negotiate. Cards like the league sensations signatures need to be negotiated by ESP and the players agent. It's the reason why Select stuck with the "Future Force" and "Top Prospects" theme and rarely put out much in the way of prominant stars (4 redemptions....captain signatures twice) unless they nailed a future prospect who then turned into a star.

For this reason the young kids will always be in these products. It gets signature cards into a release without blowing the budget way out of the water.

I'm very shocked at the Raiders selections for commons. No Campese or Croker or Papalii?? What the? Glad Edwards & Wighton get a card but. Williams & McKilrick is a strange choice.
Wonder how they came up with what players get cards?
Wonder if it has anything to do with players sponsorship or anything?
Glad Milford got the Raiders rookie that's awesome choice :)

Patrick Templeman is bearable, another individual player. Maybe John SIla would have been better. Just another dogs card ill have to get!

The distribution of sigs throughout the boxes and cases seems to be terribly done. I've bought five boxes, but I don't think I'll be doing that again, I'll just stick to buying the Knights cards off ebay in future. It's a weeks pay for me, so I'm gonna be pretty damn annoyed if I get no sigs.

This for me too. It is all well and good for case buyers etc, but it is too big a lottery for me to gamble this much money again on individual boxes. I've bought 5 boxes, which like James is a week's wage for me. I didn't enjoy ESP 2012 because I was dreading not finding anything the whole way through busting packs, and didn't buy a box of PP or Traders for the same reason. There has to be a hit in every box otherwise you cut off a lot of the faithful smaller-time hobbyists. I've never been able to buy the high end sigs, but have always bought a box, collected numbered Top Prospect/FF sets, predictors etc and been very happy. Those that call me a whinger either have too much money or are compulsive gamblers!

I could well bust 5 sigs in my 5 boxes but that won't change my mind for next time, the money is better spent elsewhere if it becomes a gamble.

Having said all that these are really nice cards, and the best range of sigs etc ever. At one a box everyone would have got something very valuable. This will be great for re-sellers.

Oh & I have never heard of the Warriors Future Star??
