Why doesnt someone on here do a break? work out the price etc and split up fairly etc: I rekon the ride would be great, ive never collected NFL stuff so would be fun to start the hobby off

someone on here could, but they arent allowed to run it on this site. so, for example, i could buy 4 boxes for us, then set up a facebook page or ustream or whatever and run it through there, but as it stands, no group breaks on OZCT

have watched one and will download and watch the other on friday as i start early in the morning. So i hope everyone was happy
with what the got out of the breaks

have u done one before? or just hypothetical

I think so, even if it was from the randoms, nothing for the PC but it was definitely fun again.

Great to hear, I was very happy with how I did, got a few PC hits. But glad everyone at least got something. I'm in for another at some stage down the track if we can find someone to host it. Maybe we could mix things up with the next one and have a "by the hit" break or a "draft" version, might be a bit of fun and create some trades or something - might also alleviate some of the "must have 8" problems we're running into too ??

So atm is it just a pick teams and everyone got the teams?

I seen a break a while back where they drew numbers there were 5 guys they drew numbers from 1-5 and went in line for each card pulled so if the packet had 4 cards then 1 gets first card and so on and then 5 was first card in next pack then back to 1 and so forth was fun provided trades etc: theres lots of ways to do it

So far we've only done it by teams, with each person getting 4 teams, 2 that they choose, the other 2 are assigned randomly. A couple of the big teams with star rookies like Washington and Indy are reserved to only be assigned through random. This gives everyone an even chance to get a big dollar hit.

Hit order is like you say, everyone's names get sorted into an order and then you get whichever hit card comes out at that point of the opening order. Draft order is similar, but once the names are sorted into the list all the cards are opened and then you get to actually pick what card you want from all of them, and then the next person gets to pick etc. I've been in a couple of draft breaks and they're good fun and the luck of a high pick can get you a really great card - I recently got an Andrew Luck auto for $59 that I just sold for $215.

Jaames, because of Russell Wilson Seattle was/is on the reserved list so you could only get them by via winning them in the random...

Yeah that draft order style one seems the go. i like that idea, you could trade draft picks too like trade 2nd draft pick for someone who hit 4th and 8th type of thing so instead of 1 high card you get 2 mid cards, better for people who are chasing a pc of team where they can get a few mid cards of their team over the 1 high card they are only gunna sell.

hypothetical... its not alot of effort in the planning and execution. Only the aftermath or packing and distributing (which i dont really have time for), but its something i have looked at, not for profit (yet!! muhahaha)

Yes, not all that hard to do, but it is a time killer and I can't really see anyone doing it unless they make some kind of a profit out of it. Being that none of us have access to the dealer type pricing and free freight they get in the US and take in to account that we'd have to pay two lots of shipping (to Aus and to the share buyer) , it'd mean that the share price would have to increase. Add to that the danger that who ever is running it is pretty likely to get lumped with slots if people pull out or disappear (which had happened both times for us) and it becomes a less worthwhile proposition for it to be run locally unless you're a Card shop or big ebay seller or someone who can swallow the cost, risk and time required to do it as part of their business.
