Shame panini ..shame

I got a reply just waiting on the replacement offer, i am easy and will take just about anything Celtic for the D.Rose.....

I have been very unlucky with redemptions lately, most of my redemptions take forever 6+ months minimum (those dreaded XRC's!)

The past few months i picked up 3 redemptions for the 12-13 Limited acetate rc auto /299 for my Klay Thompson PC.
So i got really excited when i saw those were shipped out 2 weeks ago. But when the package arrived a few days later i was absolutely shocked to only find 1 of these acetate rookies in the package!!
In my Panini account overview all 3 were marked shipped and with the same LC customs number to it, so they checked out all 3 but only put 1 in the package!!

I remember seeing this thread before and the advise some members gave to contact Panini at the Hobby email and contact David Sharp.
Well i did that a few days ago, but i guess it doesnt work for everybody because no response nothing, not even a message that they got my mail and are working on it.
The online ticket program is useless anyway, because leaving comments in there is pointless as they are never read anyway.

And what also amazes me is that you can enter if you want to wait 4 or 8 months, but after 8 months nothing happens and your still waiting. Would be great customer service if Panini would send a message after 8 months, if you still want to wait for it or get a quality replacement for it (emphasis on quality!).

Not sure whats left for me to do if they dont respond to my mails, giving a call is not an option since im in Europe and it would cost me a small fortune (with no guaranteed results).

Hope you guys will do better on your redemptions!

Cheers!
Daniel

Well Dave was awesome with his assistance, he subbed my D.Rose auto for three Celtic cards, I am excited:

for

12/13 Playoff contenders Substantial Prime Signatures Kevin McHale #1/10

2010 Panini Crown Royal All Stars Prime Materials Kevin Garnett #10/25

2010 Panini Crown Royal All Stars Prime Materials Rajon Rondo #13/25

Lets face it I was trading the D.Rose for Celtics, so I am excited and waiting by the letterbox

sweet mate cant wait to see them!!

I got back into collecting in February and am yet to receive any redemptions from Panini over the last 4 months, despite them being from 2011-2012 products!
They're not of great players either - Justin Harper hasn't played in the NBA for over a year! Surely he must have had some free signing time??? :)

Generally David is really good, one of the best ive dealt with from card companies.

You have to realise he has thousands of customers to please. Even when he doesnt respond to me once or twice i get annoyed but then you need to look at the bigger picture sometimes.

Exactly he is on the frontline trying to help collectors worldwide.

I feel terrible for David Sharp with all the happy emails he would be getting :( He must be loving all the follow up he has to do. I also contacted him about a card that has been pending for 18 months and I was told that he is pushing for Panini to make the card .... WTF .... released in a product, offered in the card checklist and not even made ??? Pretty bad form when you bust a product in the hope of hitting these advertised big hits.

How do I get into a business like that ?

So I have just finished reading through this thread. It starts out so negative, bagging the crap out of Panini redemptions, yet then there are the updated progress reports with some fantastic success stories, yet I am still to see a single comment from any of the naysayers admitting that they were wrong, and that in fact Panini has done the right thing by them. Sure it took a while, but by the sounds of most on here, the attempts to contact Panini were through the wrong channels. It seems that Twitter (thanks to Quiksilver) provides the best results.
Well done to Panini for providing WAY BETTER customer service than UD ever did. I started back collecting when UD was still up and running, and I can definitely say that I would take a Panini redemption over an UD redemption any day, which may also explain why UD no longer has any chance of getting the NBA license back from Panini.

Well said mate well said. Redemptions are part of the hobby cant help it but Panini piss on UD.

You are definitely right about the part that UD customer service is the absolute worst, and that Panini has really gotten better at it since they made the changes in the CS department.
I have to admit myself that i may have been a little impatient myself when i had my missing redemptions. But when you are used to the level of service that UD has provided (as well as Panini in the first 2 years of their NBA licence) you automatically assume the worst.
It would really help that whenever you would send Panini Customer Service an email that you at least get an automatic reply saying your message has been received and please allow us a few days to sort things out.
Because now you get no reply at all, and you are left in the dark not knowing if anyone has ever or will ever read the message.

I agree 100% that its absolutely horrible to deal with UD concerning redemptions (still fighting them myself over an 08-09 exquisite Corey Brewer redemption ).
But the one thing i gotta give to UD is that a lot of their products featured on-card autographs and much fewer redemptions. Thats the area where Panini still has a lot of ground to make up on.

I agree that redemptions are part of the hobby, but with the amount of sticker auto NBA products and mostly the same players (those 100 rookies) theres just a little bit to much redemptions for my liking.
For instance the biggest guy to hit this year is Kyrie Irving and he's pretty much a redemption every product (prizm, preferred, limited, contenders, absolute, P&P, Certified etc. etc).
Same thing pretty much goes for Durant (although lately its been better with live stuff in Preferred).

I really feel its Quantity > Quality, which is a huge reason for the high amount of redemptions.

But thats just how i feel about it. Will always love NBA Basketball, love collecting and all of the Panini basketball cards i pick up.

Wrong in so many ways....false advertising
Im surprised they havnt been taken to court...(sue at the drop of a hat over there)

You'd think maybe they'd be smart enough to hire more people to deal with the demand.

Good job you aren't in charge Jaames!:p

If you were going to hire more people, wouldn't you want them to hire people that can get the cards made/signed before the boxes go out? Instead of more filling redemptions??
