The realease date is getting a bit closer, 23rd March, and I was wondering if anybody has pre ordered their's yet? At roundabouts $1K for the console, I dare say I'll be rocking the PS2 for a while longer but who's gonna take the plunge?

while id never buy a console coming straight into the market, for a number of reasons, i can understand why someone would blow a G on one. you only have to buy one every 5-7 years.

Ive thought about getting one, but only once a few games that i want come out...Hopefully the new NBA games over the next few years will be awesome!

The DVD player in the PS3 is supposedly excellent, so that will convince a few people, who would otherwise be unsure, to get one...

Unless of course Killzone 2 is realeased staright away, man I can't wait for that game.

i'll stick to my ps2 and maybe try and find an ethernet adaptor and add a hard drive. At the moment m little one watches playschool and hi five and i'm too busy with cards.

I am with you Funk....i will be waiting until the price is lowered. I played one at Harvey;s on the weekend...graphics were outstanding!!

$1,000 + $150 per game is pathetic, and no way will I be getting one.

I would get one (eventually) if they release Final Fantasy on it. Still not sure if FFXII is on PS3 or 360.

As for the HD DVD Player, well you can always buy a stand alone DVD Player.

I reckon one of these days, if they keep this technology going, the Cinema's will no longer be a cinema, just a loungeroom with Super HD stuff... lol.

I agree with funk, I'll definately wait until the price lowers... Anyway, even if I wanted to pick one on launch day, I couldn't as I have to save up for my delayed honeymoon (6 weeks getaway ) with the wife in April. Don't think she would be too impressed if I came home with a PS3 under my arm [-X

They better release a Final Fantasy for the PS3, if they don't I would be pissed cause I love that franchise!!!

Anyone know if it's compatible to play PS1 games on it? I'm assuming yes, but not sure.

You would have to assume that PS2 games would work automatically, but dunno about PS1.

Unless it's like the 360, and only SOME games will work from the original console.

Yeah I'll pick mine up in bali later in the year, get it chip'd up and pick up a heap of cheap games. All depends on the cost around June-September
