At this stage i am looking at 512mb for about $44.95/mth....

Is this ok....it is with Westnet.

I am with Netspace, they have been really good, great customer service.
This is what my plan is

512 Active Flat Rate
Line Speed 512k/128k
Monthly Fee $49.95
Total Monthly Downloads 30GB
Peak 15GB
Off Peak (midnight - 7am) 15GB

And if you sign up I can refer you and get free stuff. ;)

For $49 a month you can get adsl2+ from TPG that is a TON faster with an 18G month download allowence ;-)

Been with them for four years now.

What sort of download size should i look for. I have seen unlimited plans but obvioulsy they are a bit more expensive. Is 15GB a lot?

chads one is one of the best deals ive seen for broadband...as soon as my crappy telstra contract runs out i reckon ill be on to them. please do not get telstra broadband, theres so many better ISP's.

I wish I could get broadband this way...They said I could get wireless which would cost me $145 to get it on then $70 a month...BUT my internet speed would be 62 cause I live to far away from the tower.

I pay $30 a month for dailup with internet speed of 54.

So I decided I wasnt going to pay all that money for a wee bit extra speed

What speed did you get Benny?

We don't have the faster speeds available with our Work Accounts yet, hopefully soon they'll get it sorted tho.

I'm with you JZA I've got Telstra Wireless for my notebook, and it's slower than Australia Post on most days! :thumbsdo:

TPG are pretty good !

I am with Iprimus but I wouldn't recommend them ! I only stay because the plan I have is cheap (lol) :)

telstra always get bad reviews by all the internet geeks, downtime, poor service, terrible speeds. its the old adage, people go with them because they know the name, like nrma insurance. why people choose their products is beyond me, when there r far better options out there

as for me, i need a static ip address for my business, so i go with ozemail, im rocking adsl2, but i only have an adsl modem as im too far from the exchange to get any real benefit from the uprated modem, still, i max out my speeds, and i fly with most stuff.
my fees with my phone bundled is about $80 a month, the phone line is about $30, so the internet is about $50. i get about 21gb a month and once i reach that, its capped at 64kb

mrs aussie2al, if wireless is slow, then why not just get std adsl. dialup isnt acceptable anymore. this is a reason why australia falls behind the rest of the world when it comes to broadband usage and speeds
