Either way as Kyle said every club develops players, then has them snatched by other's, we have had more than our fair share of junior players been taken by the likes of Peter O'Sullivan, Brian Smith etc over the years...
Players going from club to club when they are off contract is the nature of the beast but I think the Dugan scenario is so much more different as he deliberately took actions which resulted in him being sacked. Aside from his development the Raiders spent god knows how much $$ and time organising third party sponsors just to keep him and it was quite he was their 'marquee' player they were trying to build a team around so that alone is a costly loss.
As I mentioned earlier I am happy for Dugan to play for St George this season but I think the a Raiders are owed some compensation, not necessarily from St George but at least from the NRL. Lastly the NRL talk about developing their young players both on and off the field, what kind if lesson does this teach other young players? Have a spat with the coach through your own actions, take no responsibility, get an 8 week vacation and then pick up another decent contract and start playing again like nothing has happened?

Can you list what Dugan had done wrong at Canberra im curious to see how bad he was...

Oh him the one who you signed for big money on a 4 year deal....
I am not certain of all the misdemeanours he allegedly got up to, I would suggest like Carney a fair bit was swept under the rug. I know he has a fair traffic history for a variety of infringements and unlicensed offences but I think the straw that broke the camels back was his constant absence at training due to dodgy injuries and his general poor attitude. I read on the Greenhouse forum that last year when Dugan was injured and RR was in fire the other Raiders lads were teasing him and telling him he would have to come back in the wing or via the Mounties. Apparently he didn't like it and was heard to say if that happened he would be straight in the phone to his manager looking for a new club!
