Sending International Parcel

Hi all, just got a question regarding sending international parcels from Australia to the USA. Do I have to lodge the parcel over the counter? can I just get the stamps, put them on and throw them into the street mail box?

My guess is that you would need to lodge them inside the post office.

I'm sure you can put them in the letter box mate.. I can't remember the last time I filled out a customs thing they always just put stamps on it and the airmail thing and give it back to me and tell me to put it in the red letter box.

***I just noticed you said parcels.. Everything I post is just 1-3 cards so is considered a letter***

Yes, my question is regarding parcels, not large letters that are thinner than 2cm.

pretty sure it's all int parcels, there should be a little green form to fill out.
