No, not every day is this cool in the mail box, but I did get this one. Someone upgraded and gave me a chance before it would have hit ebay...

I hope I did the picture correctly...

Good question regarding the grade. I bought it already graded. The thing about some of the odder/tougher cards is that they are hard to find in any condition. This is one of 8 ever graded by psa. one PSA 1, two PSA 2's and five graded higher. These cards were issued 'inside' the hotdog packs, and basketball was much less desirable than the other sports.....so not many exist today.

I love the khans set. Sadly most of it is out of my budget so I have to get by by people posting theirs.

Thats a great pickup Don. Maybe you can fill those in here about the difference from each khans year as some years are a lot more rarer than other years. Have you got any Big O ones??

Great mailday and its lucky to be in the loop sometimes for such pickups as that.

Well done on working out the pic too LOL

Any Khans regardless of grade is good.

AWESOME Khan card of West...I am one of those members that is very jealous...LOL

Cool pickup Don...I am yet to get a Khan for my collection.

Cool mail day...hope to see more of your stuff...I just love that Oddball stuff

Cheers Tracy

There are others with far more knowledge than I have regarding the Kahns. They issued the basketball cards from 1957-1965. There's never been a Russell nor a Chamberlain, so the big stars began with Robertson and West in 1960. The 1957 set does have Stokes, Twyman and Lovelette though, and they are all very hard to find. The 1950's cards often will go for $400 to $500 for any player. Annually the issues were from about 9 to 13 cards to the set, except 1965 which i think is smaller. There is a biography on the backs of the cards, except for the 1961's which are blank backed.
I do have the 1961 Robertson and West. The West is graded a 3, and the Robertson is in about the same condition.
Let me know if you have any other questions. Thx, Don

Nice work Don...this is very interesting stuff. I cant wait to see some of your future maildays.

Where do you find cards like this. Do they pop up on the bay?

I'll often scan the backs of cards to show here Don. with the internet they are seldom seen on sites and auctions and the older releases often have great card backs. Those Hawks cards certainly sell well from what i've seen. The Big O and West are two great cards.

Have you got any bread for energy, Bread for health etc. The guys are used to some mainstream vintage but that sort of stuff and khans doesn't pop up here in Aussie collections.

very sweet mail day there.i have never seen them before.like chad said maybe you could scan the back of the cards as well.thanks for sharing and look forward to more of your mail days =D>
