Backscanned some more stuff in my 'pile' - liked the look of some of the new products so decided to see what some looked like 'in hand'. I always try to finish with something decent (not fantastic!) so hopefully y'all be impressed with the final cards too

Thanks to the guys (and gal) I've dealt with in this lot too - matty83, la iph, strop, postgsl - top members who deserve a shout out!

Up first some promising new talent:

Andrew Nicholson, Enes Kanter (big 20,20 game the other day) and Royce White (big guy who is a jack of all trades - boards, passes and can score - real triple threat, unfortunately hasn't been able to strut his stuff so far this season due to an anxiety disorder - 'coz getting paid gazillions to play ball for a living is stressful!) ;-)

The coach cards are back! ...probably too many coach autos in recent times anyway - good to have the odd Pat Riley or Phil Jackson auto but not every other NCAA coach in the country! Grabbed this to have a look at the new autographics.... Bill Self - Kansas coach.
IMG_00072-6_zps1de1e3a8.jpg

Love those on card wood autos - would do the chase but way over extended already! Nolan Smith - Duke boy, doing such an average job that they brought in Eric Maynor - ouch!
IMG_00023-8_zps001793c3.jpg

The Bismack Bomber - pretty sure he was going to be a bust but could be the next Ibaka.........or Diop. Youtube the airballed free throw - shockingly memorable!
IMG_0003-17_zpsf0a91ecb.jpg

Will 'The Thrill' Barton - my late second round fantasy keeper league flier has left me a little disappointed so far...
IMG_0004-18_zpsc637b32b.jpg

The Prizn Gang - get it? Prison gang...never mind, bad attempt at humour anyay

Quincy Miller, Marshon Brooks (a fantasy steal for me last year - guy can rack up points when Joe Johnson isn't around!) and Jeremy Lamb - he'll be good - just has a few guys ahead of him in the rotation eating up minutes! lol

Wesley 'Not the Thrill' Matthews - step aside dude, your eating up Will's minutes! Very under-rated player - would be on the all NBA hustle team! Good college program at the Golden Eagles, turnign out some quality product!
IMG_00082-12_zps10cc9a6b.jpg

The latest Raptor - they;ve got some serious athletic ability now - DeRzan, Gay, Ross and Lowry - Raptors will be on highlight reels next season! Forget Lob-Angeles - we welcome you to Lob-ronto!
IMG_00092-12_zpsc5073fef.jpg

Tyson Chandler - I'll say it again - acetate ftw! Great looking product!

YAOSERS!
Another near PC player - has done a lot for the game. For those who haven't watched the Year of the Yao (a 5 part series on youtube about his rookie year, it;s well worth it - booed at the draft. Barkley was remembered for saying the Rockets would have been better off selecting Caron Butler and that if Yao scored 19 points in a game he'd kiss Kenny Smith's ass).

Box Score Debut /2002- yep, Yao sucked early on, scoreless on debut and had a lot of catch up to do after missing pre season. Bit of an oddball as the boxscores are snippets from USA Today! So I just paid for an old newspaper clipping?! Hmmmm

Chunky Hardwood patch /25 - didn't realise that jerseys were this thick!

Trilogy Dual Auto w/ Ralph Sampson #33/33 - ebay 1/1!

Love this card Yao shares it with another 1st overall Rockets pick - 7'4' Ralph Sampson. Could only have been better if the other Rockets 1st overall 7 footer (Hakeem) was on it too... Golden sharpie is a nice touch too with the Rockets colours

Nothing major this time but have a huge mailday to scan up next including my first ever auto of one of the A list players in the basketball collecting world....unbelievable but true!

As always thanks for looking (and if you bothered reading), comments always appreciated. Until next time!

Always entertaining Skip!

You know it - the card itself is only half the story!

So entertaining buddy like the MArshon!

Just needs some minutes, Joe Johnson to get hurt or PJ to get fired! Think I have another on the way!

Nice additions bud!

Cheers mate - not exactly high end stuff but happy to have them in hand!

Some great pickups mate, favourite would have to be the Box Score card, can't say I've seen one before :)

In his first few games he was already written off as a bust - wouldn't mind doing this set chase either!

lovin it brew, love the descriptions!!! like a guided tour!!

Next floor MJ, Kobe, PC items and Benchwarmer haberdashery! lol Glad that you took the time to read it!

Would love to see a box score with James Harden debut for the rockets
Nice pics dude

Here you go mate - regular season debut on 28/10/2009 agianst the Kings he chipped in 5 points and 2 boards in 13 minutes on perfect shooting....

James Harden 12:59mins 2 from 2 FGs (1 from 1 3P) 2 defensive boards 3 fouls and 5 points overall.

Sweet gold yao auto, havent seen one of them before!

Neither have I mate - I guess there's only 32 more of them to be had!

Good pickups skip

Cheers Matt - something better coming up soon hopefully!

Sick Yao patch too

Thickest patch I've ever seen! This thing is so chunky I think there are bones in it!

Always a pleasure to read and watch your mailyday Skip, it's like a guided tour and i like that's

Very nice pick ups ;)

Yes, I like to tell a story! Hopefully it makes more sense to you than it does to me! Glad you were part of it too :-)

Nice to see you grabbing some different new stuff skip! The prizm autos are sweet arent they? Also the yao stuff is nice, and we don't see many people picking up his stuff here either :)

Great read as usual Skip! Really like the Prizm autos and the Yao Ming cards look awesome! I just love the variety you bring to maildays mate.

Cheers Benn, since Yao had retired and all the love for Lin his card prices have become a bit more sensible which has allowed me to pick some more of his cards up. One of my favourite dunks of all time below.....much respect for Big Ben in his prime but Yao pwns him in this clip! An absolute facial!

Well you should be less surprised than most since some of these used to belong to you! As Yoda would say, "Variety, spice of life, it is...."

I only clicked on this to see Yao, and his cards are even more exciting than I expected. These are great. The box score is a great card, although it has some terrible and unfortunate things on it. It is safe to say that Houston had to rebuild at the time, and Yao was a big piece to build around.

The Houston zoo had a baby giraffe arrive last week, I think they called it Yao Ming.

Not only starting Francis and Mobley but Moochie and his hair too, I am surprised that any other Rockets had the ball and were able to score a point. Yao would soon become great that season, there was a fantasy team in his rookie year that dropped him and I picked him up, and then Yao had 5 games in a row of shooting 80% from the field, or something like that.

The Pacers had an odd team in the win that game, Erick Strickland started and even scored 19 points. Ron Mercer had 38 minutes off the bench for 4 assists.

Glad you weren't disappointed Angus! Even Griffin jacked up 11 shots and known defensive players like Cato had 8 attempts... Lucky the real offensively minded players like Taylor and Rice stayed on the bench for that one! 9 assists for the whole match - says it all really!
