Hey guys,

Is it just me or the fact I'm Aussie, noticed on blowout we get shunned a fair bit, low ballers and shit dribblers are everywhere on there.

you more experienced blowout guys had good dealings with members in there?

who would you recommend and not recommend?

even with Paparazzi Cards a guy was reluctant to deal with me for my Russell Wilson rivet NFL auto.

There have been sooo many scams on there that it is not funny! That is why everyone is sceptical of ANY new members. Just go on and do a search for 'Haiku' and you will see how elaborate these scammers are!

While there are a lot of lowballers and time wasters, there are also a lot of genuine good guys, the trick is finding them! lol

I do know a fair few good traders on there, so feel free to ask about anyone, but only in Basketball really!

yeah Ive had the same problems too as I said in my texts last night brett, its a joke really.
Esp then when I get put in the same category as this ''Haiku'' fella its not cool...

I have managed to find a couple decent guys on there so far but it is hard..

just from reading everyday things on there a lot of them seem to be arrogant assholes who are quick to slam on people about any little thing

Blowout cards are a constant bitch fight, and its so hard to not get drawn into it sometimes. I haven't really done many deals there.

Like Adam said you just need to find the right people, every site has its lowballerd and scammers. It's provavlu the site with most volume though.

Go have a read! It is crazy!!

epic. not that i read all of it...
the thread has got everything tho. grooming of marks with thousands of dollars worth of freebies/discounts, then fleecing said marks, scamming papypal, ponzi schemes, fencing stolen cards, fleeing countries, letters to governors, identity theft, fake police reports, multiple accomplices. i just read for about an hour and still have no idea what the hell happened?!
one thing i did get out of it is the shock of realising there are people spending 5k on mystery packs...

thats insane! still new to the hobby and that makes me think not to buy singles and just bust packs!

Ive started trading, or actually, buying off guys there. I think Ive made 5 purchases in the last 2 months.

I just look for the blokes that have their eBay link in their ID thing on the left there...and look for their eBay feedback page. Voila! I send them the link for my eBay feedback, say that I'm interested and try broker an agreement.

I spent a cpl of days at work going throught the Haiku stuff here and there... It's funny cause a lot of those guys have their head so far up their asses hobbywise, it's not funny.... $4k on "mystery lots"??? How fucking stupid can you be??? Those guys were "groomed" perfectly.... Must have been the easiest scam "Haiku" has ever pulled off... Some real good, knowledgable guys on there but 90% are just idiots who think they know everything and shoot down everyone who disagrees... Ive refrained from posting in many threads with what I feel would be constructive input (I don't feel the need to attack differing opinions but do like a good discussion) Ive signed up for some case shares but that's about it.... Really only dealing in buying PC (Vincent Brown) and joining some caseshares for fun atm (Planning a US trip so finding it harder and harder to justify non essential purchases) ... Kinda figuring out there are A LOT of timewasters in this hobby, whether it is here, ebay or there... I work full time, I am a father and a have missus who works 50+ hours a week so I do a lot of the stuff around the house too... I reply to PM's and questions in threads in a timely manner, I pay asap or at least inform the seller when I will... It seems a number of others do not feel this is important.. It is easier for the sake of a few dollars or a low end trade to just not deal with these ppl, no matter how great there feedback is... The "hobby" quickly becomes a "chore" dealing with them. Don't get me started on the well known Australian seller with 100% feedback here and on ebay who took two weeks to send over $100 worth of cards I paid for within 24 hours (this was an ebay transaction)

It seems the more involved or active I get in the hobby, the more I find shit that pisses me off, whether it is fake patches (upperdeck buying Walmart jerseys and claiming they are game used), Overpriced wax filled with junk, scams, timewasters... whatever.... Guess I'm just having a vent (haven't had one pretty much since I got back in to the hobby, so here it is)

I like aspects of blowout on my own terms but I have no interest in trading or selling to USA collectors.... Think I'll stick to buying as I have paypal cover - too many horror stories on that site...

Lot of good guys in this hobby, a lot just in it 100% for themselves and a lot of shady scammers too...

your reply was almost as long as the Haiku thread! I couldn't be bothered reading either! :P

Been on there for a while, good place to buy/sell/trade high mid end but not really worth it for low end

Haven't really had any problems on there at all
