ESP NRL Traders 2013 Sneak Peak UPDATED WITH NEW IMAGE

Nothing is ever going to be perfect and im sure we would all poke holes in a release no matter what came out whether it be ESP, Select, Topps or Panini for that matter.

Its a big improvement on last years Champions (and Limited Edition) and the Young Guns give people something to chase that will actually have some value. Remember those 2011 Star Signatures were 1 in 4 boxes and there were 600 of them. These are 1 in 6 boxes and there are only 130. You cant really winge that they are harder or more expensive to get - thats the whole point!

We have been crying out for some more limited runs on things well here it is. Cant have it both ways.

Im not 100% happy with this release either but take 5 minutes to look over 2012 AFL Champions and you might rethink things.
 
I'm not going to bag the release before I see the cards in the flesh/cardboard. Just worried about ESP's ability to keep me and all NRL collector's interested. ATM I am completely disinterested in the next release, as I was with the Rep set from last year. Not off to a great start with me I'm afraid. Comparing something I want to something a lot worse doesn't ease the pain for me if the thing I want is crook in the first place (if ya get my drift):confused:

ESP (and any business for that matter) are here to make money, It should be them making the profits, not the people selling the (sigs) on ebay, Collecting used to be for our own collections, Not for money making. Hope this makes some sense

I think everybody needs to wait and see regarding this release.

As a lot of people have said, for their first low end release there are some good cards in there. Given a choice, id rather have a shot at a young guns signature and some decent looking inserts than end up with a mass produced comic looking insert.

Yeah I tend to agree mate I'm sure they will sort there ratios out but there needs to be patience. Besides there was never a guaranteed Sig in a champions box so give it a go.. the inserts can only get better too

Honestly, i never bought a box of champions, but when I felt the urge to bust some packs, I would buy 5-10 packs at a time. I'll probably do the same with Traders....if i hit something nice, so be it!

Most of the time its about the urge to bust some packs for the hell of it....

That's what I did with limited. Sometimea it can be bad thing working next to a newsagents haha

Even busting single packs just for the hell of it seldom brings rewards, someone somehow knows what they can offload or not!.
 
Not really getting what the problem is here. This is a series one release with a comparable (I know it is slightly dearer) price tag to Champions. Chance of a sig is one in six boxes and we are complaining?? If I bought six boxes of Champions I would have six mascot gems or some other rubbish. Give me at least a shot at a sig any day!

The other way I look at it is that we complained that Champions was the same year in year out. If Select had held the licence and come up with this release we would be singing their praises for finally doing something different.

Whilst I don't love everything about this release I am looking forward to it. Bring on the new era I say.

I think the problem is silly people like me bought into case shares thinking that it was one auto per box. I should have waited for ratios before jumping the gun

i totally agree, apart from the 07 champions and 2012 champions the rest were total SHIT....This 1st release from esp, not totally excited about them at least they have Signatures and a heap of different cards and at various ratios and this is just series one.....1 of 2 1st releases we still have another to go then the really good stuff comes later :)
