Crazy 8 Box Breaks

Didn't do well in the randoms yesterday, pretty much got hosed..

Today though I bought Rams and Seahawks and just got a Sterling /36 Prismatic Patch Auto of Russell Wilson ! Awesome ! Made up for yesterday greatly! And still another break to go

Yeah, don't think the Chargers rated much in those products though did they ? I nearly took them myself as they ended up pretty cheap but couldn't see many cards on ebay so figured they weren't well represented..

Sterling boxes are a bit rich, (and what's with no veterans ?) so yesterday I took randoms and got the Cowboys, Falcons, Vikings and Colts...and came away with one Vike auto I think (maybe some base) for $80...Typical, get the Colts and get nada !

Was pretty disso in that and nearly didn't have a go today, but I waited for the 40% discount to kick in and in the end did well with the Wilson making up for yesterday as well, plus two Rams jerseys and a Strata die cut (and not damaged !) for the PC. Should get my money back and then some on the Wilson..

Think Jon's just getting back into it, but would rather see one or two more boxes in each break, even if it means not dropping the prices so much or so fast.

Got stuff all in some randoms today, at least they weren't too expensive. Balked at the Division Random of 2 Sterlings @ $80 but Neil, you might want to check out the crazy Pierce patch someone pulled..

Have had a few arrive from past breaks - Titus Young was a redemption. The Dolphin is spoken for, but the rest are available should anyone want them...Those Blacks are nice cards...

Trevor, backed away from those today, $80 for a division was a bit rich, even $11 for a random was a bit high I thought given Al's team pricing, OK if you get the redskins or colts but thats about it. There are only 2 Chargers autos and BP patches for the ravens which I can probably pick up on ebay for next to nix.

Probably would have done the same myself mate if I hadn't done pretty well in the last break. As it is I think I missed out altogether on the hits, pulled pretty dud teams for Rookies though.

Did you see the Pierce ? Crazy patch for such a high numbered card, they should have saved that one for something else...

Yeah, it needs to ! Way too easy to buy these $10, $20 and $30 shares...but they all add up !

Very much so. I have been buying up too many singles lately! It's not so much the cards as such now, but the postage of $8 for most sellers is a bit of a killer.

Got a tweet from kiddercards today saying that the shipment for the Contenders break we were in had gone out and postage was over $9 which was double what he charged for international shipping

Probably not so bad really, only $4 more than charged. This last parcel Crazy sent set him back $18 he reckons...mind you it got here pretty quick and was packed extra well, due to the Wilson being in there I figure. Card box within another bigger box with foam peanuts etc. Commons in team bags and hits in sleeves and top loaders.

Kidder and most of these guys would likely do better if they had more breaks on the go at once, more sales and a bit more economical as post can be combined...

I think this is where Al is doing it right. Sure his shipping may be a lot slower (I am guessing more so for us than guys from the States), but waiting for a month worth of breaks then shipping in a large bulk lot works out a lot cheaper. Personally, I am not too fussed about the longer shipping times from Al so doesn't bother me too much. The way i see it is I know he will be shipping them at some stage, and I tend to only purchase Raiders so they are only going in the PC anyway.

That is what I told him, I dont mind waiting a few weeks and combining a few breaks, which he said he would look at but he also liked to get peoples cards out ASAP, which is good business too.

Yeah, I suppose, but there's slow and sloooowwwwww :-)

This is true. But is the emails I had with Al, he did say if I ever wanted any of the cards quickly to let him know and he would just send it out. His preference was to wait until the count box (250 card I think it was?) was full with base, hits etc as this was the most economical way.
