As most of you know I normally collect the older guys from the 90s and before and don;t really have much hobby love for the new breed besides Q-Pon of course... Anyhoo, wanted to have a look at some recent product so decided to buy a few cards of the younger guys which allowed me to see some of the new product in hand (I don't bust a lot) so it was a bit of a novel experience.

Gary Forbes Hoops Auto - love the fact this guy went to 2 colleges, went undrafted, bounced around 2 D League teams, Italy, Phillipines, China, Venezuela and Israel before getting his shot in the 'big show'!

The 'other' big Aussie - thought this guy was going to be the best big guy in the NBA but his college career kind of went backwards from a sure fire mid 1st round pick, to 2nd round pick and ultimately going undrafted... *accidentally bought twice*
IMG5_zps72e4b97d.jpg

X-Man Xavier Henry /399 - still has plenty of upside since he left Kansas as a freshman, should be getting more burn instead of Austin Rivers....
IMG_00023_zps224db124.jpg

Kevin Seraphin /399 - athletic big man finally starting to strut his stuff....
IMG_0004_zps4ac8adc9.jpg

Chris Singleton - another of the Wizards young and athletic front court players...without much 'Basketball IQ'. Typical Florida State product?!
IMG_00033_zpsec792952.jpg

E'Twaun Moore - classic tweener, but the guy has heart! Love the look of these wood autos too.. no sticker crap either!
IMG_00063_zpsd450fd68.jpg

Eric Maynor /125 - great game but plagued by injuries - the real PG which OKC needs!
IMG_00073_zps539a9f01.jpg

Moe Harkless - Stole this guy deep into the second round for my fantasy league keeper team - so glad that he got dealt to the Magic is getting some floor time. Very versatile player, if he can hit the long range J consistently - look out!
IMG_00053_zps42fae541.jpg

Tyler Zeller - like the cut of his jib - solid as a rock! Not going to be a star but definitely will be a solid starter down the track for many years...
IMG_00083_zps1b8a4ba9.jpg

Nicola Vuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucevic! Dwight who? hah hah
IMG_00093_zps1a35fa02.jpg

Johnny Flynn /49 - how this guy still isn't in the NBA is beyond me! Must get to see one of his games while he's still in OZ!
IMG_00103_zps8405113e.jpg

This guy keeps following me around.... Ever have a player who you seem to keep ending up with? Pulling him in packs or in my case making trades and deals for him as part of a bigger arrangement?

Damion James!

Thanks for looking folks, comments always appreciated. Apologies for the novel - still have several more maildays in me! Just getting around to my backlog of scanning...

Nothing PC so all up for trade if they're wanted.

Love the mailday which is definitely different for you. Nice to see you showing some of the young guys some hobby love! The Damion James patch sooooo purdy, lol.

That's it mate - trying to get into the new breed because let's face it, there's plenty more cards of them! ...and who cares who the player is - that patch is nuts!

Great post, nice pickups! Did Gary Forbes sign that while riding on the back of a moving motorcycle?

I believe it was on the back of the team donkey between his stints in Italy and Israel.... heh heh

Nice commentary lol

....at least you found something nice to say about the mailday! :-P
Yeah i love the commentary too :hearts: You're a superstar Mister Skip ! Nice pick ups my friend ;)

About time someone recognised my superstar status! :-S Looking at some new cardboard keeps me interested in cards!

Nice mate love seeing "average joe" autos

Not everyone can be a case hit mate! If you know he story behind some of these guys they can be just as inspiring....

I have no idea who about 95% of these guys are haha
Nice 'Beet nameplate tho

Fantasy NBA guru - have to know all the scrubs, their contracts, who's likely to deliver if traded etc. That's how I know about these guys - if Thabeet sticks to blocking and reboudning he'll be fine!

Great stuff, love the jumbo patch mate!

....have you ever seen a jumbo patch which was an eyesore? Not the best player on earth but I still love that card!

I think Harkless can become a very good player, he's already an impresive defender & a great rebounder at his position.

Xavier Henry suffers from the James Anderson syndrom: great college player, but injury-prone, and by now he's a bust (compared with someone like Paul George :D)

Btw, nice cards !

Where abouts in Belgium are you Vincent? Nowhere near Antwerp by any chance?

I'm giving Henry another year or two before I call him a bust - his shooting percentages and team play are generally improving and hes showing a bit more maturity on court. Don't forget, if he stayed in college this would be his senior year!

Harkless could be the next big thing! ...almost as good as Paul George! hah hah

Man... you gotta get in touch with KFC because you are the real king of the Variety Bucket!

There is always something in your maildays that one would never expect to be in your mailday! lol

Lovin the MKG!!

Also, is that one of multiple Threads letter sets you have completed? I seem to recall some others in the past??

.....are you calling me Colonel Sanders? My bucket is an aabsolute shambles - always picking up odds and ends that catch my eye, the Bower Bird of OCT!

I've started so many set chases and only finished a couple - prior to this was Carroll and Hill. Bought the Harden nameplate and sold it for too little too early! :-S

Currently working on Toney Douglas, Jonas Jerebko and Jermaine Taylor - just need the R!
