I was just reading in the newest issue of slam(well newest issue to hit aussie shores) about Michael Beasley and how everything in his career thus far has only happened because he has a lot of potential. And they said that he has top-10 talent but isnt a top-10 player and that got me thinking who else played their career in the same mold?

I feel that the same thing is happening to someone from the same draft year Anthony Randolph!! When he came into the league i said to myself he will be a good player some day and that hasnt happened.

Is the same thing going to happen to players like Drummond, Beal, TRob?

Just wondering who people feel the same thing happened to, players that had a truck load of talent but never really become a franchise player?

You can also add players who were the complete opposite low drafted or undrafted talent who become an excellent player in the league

I reckon JJ has become a solid player for the Magic. He has taken quite a while to get there but putting up solid numbers now.

Every player the Knicks have drafted in the last 15 years! Also Eddy Curry is the first name that comes to mind. Could have been one of the best bigmen in the league

Undrafted - Avery Johnson, Brad Miller, Ben Wallace

More recently - Gary Neal!

Any Warriors fans or 90's tragic's :D ...... What about Billy Owens ..... of whom he replaced Mitch Richmond!

Bit early to call DWill! I think his situation has something to do with the TWolves rotation, maybe the coach, dunno, I think he will get his groove going in a season or 2, at Minnesota or somewhere else, and be great.

Exactly what they said a few years back about Beasley. But as it turns out, Beasley is that classic "tweener" - not enough outside game, especially defensively, to play SF, and too small to play full time PF, so unless they can come off the bench and play a bit of a sparkplug role, they struggle to find a niche in the league. And I am afraid DWill is looking like a Beasley clone in that respect.
