This is the darkest day for me as a sports fan. Rajon Rondo has torn his ACL.
I couldn't breathe when the news broke.
This is an unbelievable shot to the Boston Celtics organization, the Boston Celtics fan across the world, Rajon Rondo's career, and my green heart.

I can only sit and stare in disbelief.

Celts are giving the Heat a good run but I wonder if this will make Danny Ainge blow the team up, with a little less than a month before the trade deadline. Whatever happens, I look forward to seeing Rondo back on the court.
 
this is huge for the league and even moreso for the C's.

Currently sitting 8th in the East, will they now miss playoffs? Philly 2 games behind, det 4 games behind
 
Rubio says hi. It happns, sucks for Rondo, bad for Celtics.... knee injuries are the worst, the one good thing on Rondos side is he is a smart passer, but he may lose some athleticism when he returns.
 
Its a sad day to be honest.. Whether you love him or hate it, its a horrible thing to hear. Although i didnt care when Rose went down, but i dont like the guy for some reason.

I suspect Ainge will have no choice but to blow it up. They are barely in the 8 with Rondo, no way they stay there without him. Blow it up n save some salary n get some more young pieces..

This will affect their playoff run for sure. I wonder if they will sign another pg before the feb 21 deadline.
Another question will get raised, how well will he recover from it?

Rough news for C fans and as much as I dislike Rondo its not something I like seeing happen to a quality player (or any player for that matter).
 
I tell you what I don't think there has been this many ACL injuries in such a short space of time in the NBA ever...... if there has I can't remember it. Don't like the guy but wouldn't wish something like this on anyone. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

PS If they break up the Cs I call dibs on Bulls getting KG....... Could play as backup C for Noah and has the mungrel I think we need come playoffs.

Heafy83 - K.G has a no trade clause in his contract, so unless he agrees to be traded, couldn't happen...

Will be a sad day if the C's trade Pierce, even having lost a step this past season, Pierces game today and subsequent Trip-Dub was a sure indicator that he isn't done...
 
surely kg and pierce's trade values just dropped enormously. Everyone knows the C's will be keen to trade them, so why would teams offer too much for them.
 
Yeah i really dont like him at all, i believe the celtics will be broken up like everyone is saying, time for an injection of youth seen as this team looks 20 years older every year!! But i doubt they will get anybody huge maybe a few picks and a nice couple of role players

Was just thinking the same thing, although more along the lines of biggest kick in the nuts ever. They talk about players having no loyalty, that would have to be be a big sign of disrespect to Pierce should he be traded.

And Brandon, you have only lost one player, yes he is a very important player. The team I follow in the local Aussie league lost two of its starting five to ACL injuries in the same game..that sucks double..
