Double Ups?

Ive heard someone here has more than 15 Black leader of one particular player.
All based on demand I guess. I think the 2012 set will always be seen as a nice many cards on high end set that is reasonably difficult to finish yet attainable - unlike 2004 year. When chasing the blacks and they have 12 or so of them already, they are the people who will pay the big prices for the missing few.

I dunno... But I offloaded mine for bugger all, fearing I'd get stuck with them.
There is only 50, but they're not that special. I wouldn't expect them to get past $350ish (unless you are talking jersey # or 2!!)

Just out of curiosity.... How many people here have doubled up on expensive cards.. Say like Sig redemptions and LLB's?

I have two Gidley cap sigs (one in the process of sale)..... But that's about it!!

I know who's pc 1 of your Gidley's Captain Signature is going in.

Can anyone explain the point of having more than one of something?

I understand if it's a PC player going after a few of top prospects or similar but it just seems a complete waste of money to go after multiple sets of things.

Quality over quantity every time for me.

If I pass them down to my kids or nephews, then I want them to have full sets.
The harder stuff will be impossible to get in 20 yrs

Yes, i have.

Own 3 of the Glenn Stewart Signature Redemptions (not by choice) and doubled up on a couple of Black League Leaders which i'm holding for the time being

Eventually they often get moved on, it's just a question of timing.

Oh, i'd like to mention my Woods collection but i need one more TP...ONE MORE!!!!

I've been running on this logic for a while now.... Often find myself more content with a cowboys double than a matching card from another team..

These days.. PC all the way!!

Troy our next higher end card of sorts would have probably been in 2015, Ash Harrison 300 game case card, but no more select. Other than that lets hope ESP come out with some sort of signed Limited numbered superstars insert set featuring either Birdy, Nate or Bull

Some teams really do get so much less attention... I understand marketing wise it's better for them... But collector wise it's disappointing.... Although I am happy there was no high end cowboys in the new esp... I'd be dirty having to find $1k+ for one of those!

Yep, I didn't pay anymore than $30ea for the ones that I bought. eBay has gone a little high but I still have every other TP card available for trade.

I was surprised to get one for $30 recently, the last one I needed to complete the set - and #17 as well - his jersey number for half his rookie season!

I'm just happy to keep filling holes in my sets. Still a long way off and while I try to keep up with high end Doggies stuff, I'm still missing a few of those as well. Still don't have an Ennis LL, Gold or Black. Any trade bait I get usually doesn't last too long.
