Cards & Sunlight

Afternoon All,

I am in the process of organising my second card room and want to get another display cabinet from ikea.

I just dont want to put my high end cards in then they all start fading on me

So I was wondering what you guys think

Would they fade if left in the cabinet?

im not an expert but i would think that autos on cards would begin to fade in direct sunlight without protection from u.v glass, like what happens to signed basketballs and jerseys in direct sunlight if they arnt protected

Why not get the window tinted that the cards are in?

Good start is Ultra Pro one touches . The ones with the gold magnets are UV treated the ones with silver are not.

You could always block out the sun Mr Burns style.

Do not ever open the curtains, view only ever under low wattage flouerenscent tubes or globes, handle only with cotton gloves, no admission to U/18's without accompanying adults, have carpenter & glazier install UV resistant glass panels to the Ikea cases........

Does it need to be direct sunlight??? I have my cabinet against the wall that has no "direct" sun, just natural light... will that fade my cards???

I got about 110-120 cards displayed in there so I should prob get this question answered
