The Mrs and I need to get to London around mid-year and flights (and then the rest of it) are damn expensive. I have been open to selling my Jordan game-used jersey

and have a couple of options available to me.

I paid a little over $6000 plus postage for this.
I have received an offer of $4000 for it and I have to pay postage (around $200NZ).
I can consign this to an auction house/site for their April auction. There's no telling what bids it might get (apparently the Jordans they've sold go from $4-9k), and they take 15% of the sale price, and I would receive a cheque around June.

What should I do? Take the guaranteed cash? Consign and hope that it gets above $4500 (to make the $4000) and that I can cash their check quickly?

Or is there another/better way I could sell this (ebay is a bit too hard for me)?

It was Originally obtained by Grey Flannel, then sold through Mears

Found it on his previous topic
Thats all well and good but how do you know its a genuine game worn item?

Is there some form of authenticity along with photo proof/evidence its a real gamer?

Also i recommend downloading a shop called All Star Dealers its the TV show for Grey Flannel that will help explain how they authenticate items

Its a good show

This doesn't have actual 'proof', however it does come with a signed letter from Mears stating that they have inspected it, and deemed it to be game worn, and that it originally was obtained by an impeccable source and sold by Grey Flannel. Ultimately, it's just a letter of opinion. I tried photo-matching it but there weren't enough photos (or not of every game).

Thank you everyone for the replies so far. Unfortunately I don't have an ebay account and even if I could try to use my friend's one he has selling limits which this is too high for. I had not heard of Tristar and don't know what Gumtree is, but I may take a look.

Tristar is the largest seller of jerseys in the US. Worth looking at them.

For $4G I'd be interested too! Seriously!

I would think you'd get a fair bit more.

I'd go with a good auction house, and you'd probably get a better price.

Thanks Norm, I've emailed them.

And guys, if you are interested, and willing to beat the $4k please let me know ASAP. I can send you pics and scans of the LOA if you give me your email address, but basically I've only got a couple of days to decide on the $4k offer.

Thanks everyone for their input. I was just about to consign to the auction house but have now negotiated $4145 dlvd and will take that. Bit of a loss but it means I can get to London.
