Ref cards???

You keep doing that because it is the only way you are going to see saints win one for a very long time.....again !!!

Within 5 years wont seem like that long. ;)

I suppose your post also demands a little bit of friendly banter back.........so remember at least when we do again win one it will be satisfying to know our team will have had some localy developed juniors playing in the team and wont have been completely bought of the back of other clubs hard work.............

We have a small junior base so developing local talent has been and will always be a problem unfortunately. But i suppose when you have 2 areas including the Illawarra region to develop players you should have some local talent there. Still at least half of your 2010 side was, as you say bought off the back of other clubs hard work. ;)

Different sport but you get the idea... Could happen...

Here are Jeff Kennetts thoughts on the AFL referee cards. Sums things up pretty well IMO.

"I think the move by the umpires' association to put out cards with umpires and boundary umpires on it is the height of stupidity," Kennett told SEN radio.

"Umpires are not the reason people go to watch a game of football. They are there to adjudicate efficiently and quietly, and I'm afraid and fear these cards are going to be the best non-sellers of the year"

"It's a failure of appreciation by those who are trying to manage their affairs that umpires are not and should not be the focus of the game, and I think it will be embarrassing when so few people purchase them. Why would you do it?"

Someone is still bitter....if your team is beaten easily like that you should man up and stop making excuses, be a good sport and accept the best team won. Even if you think your team got dudded on one try, how does that make a difference? Truth is the Roosters played horrible in the second half and Carney went missing as is the normal in big games. As for winning one again...i don't see the Roosters doing it any time soon as much as they buy talent away from other clubs!

Man up....hahaha. I still here saints supporters whinging from 1999 !

Singularly the most ridiculous idea I've ever come across. And not even "American garbage" stoops this low. They do indulge in mascot cards which I think is pretty crazy but that's a whole lot better than refs. These people have brought the game into disrepute more often and more critically than anyone or anything else. They should not be acknowledged favourably in any way. Thank you, and good night.

What a load of crape..............that last statement that referees have bought the game into disrepute more often etc than anyone or anything else would have to be the..... well I can't say that I really think and to say that referees should not be acknowledged favourably in any way is well......crazy. So the thought of having Referee cards is not popular with collectors is understandable but referees are every bit as professional an athlete in the modern era as the players. Any mistakes by a referee that may have had an impact on the game has always been on the field, you don't hear stories of them out on the pi55, urinating in streets, acosting underage girls or dancing in their jocks on tables.

Without the referee structure in all levels of the game you do not have the NRL. They are as important to the game as the players themselves.

Well said tak, they do a good job - personally I think they are hamstrung in how good a job they can do by a lot of the decisions that the refs bosses make. Hopefully that changes under Daniel Anderson.

For instance, when benefit of the doubt came in, it was never meant to mean that if you were 99% sure a try hadn't been scored, that you would award a try. That interpretation seemed to come in under Bill Harrigan and Stuart Raper. Anderson seems to have a much more common sense approach.

Well maybe I was a bit too harsh. Might have been feeling tired and emotional after a hard weekend's partying. Personally however, I am very hard to offend. Therefore I must comment that I don't really care about blokes acting stupid on the drink, been happening since Adam first went to the pub, but I am very much offended when my team gets rorted by incompetent refereeing. Anyway, things can only get better......can't they!

Yeah because the Roosters have won heaps of GF's in the last 30 years as well...
Next time you watch the 2010 GF, look at both roosters try's as well...
32-8....
You keep doing that because it is the only way you are going to see saints win one for a very long time.....again !!!
