I am a big fan of Press Pass too. Never had to deal with redemptions from them or anything, but they normally have some real nice card designs and are at a good price point for what you get. It's a shame they don't have an NFL license. I have seen a few of their Nascar releases and love the car bonnet and tyre relic cards I think they are even if I am not much of a Nascar fan.

I agree about these bigger companies, especially Topps. Like I said though I have personally never had an issue with Panini (maybe I am just lucky!) so I can't bag them too much. As much as we all hate redemptions, I guess the companies are held back quite a bit by some of these guys signing too and they have to decide is it worth issue a redemption or just to take the card out of the set come release time. I do like how Panini have their regular updates on their site with all the different cards autos arriving / that are going out that coming week.

One thing I would like to see the companies do though is what Topps have said they will do with the Topps Chrome redemptions this year - you receive a bonus special Blue Wave pack when you get your redeemed card finally also that can feature another auto itself. This I think helps ease the pain a little from getting a redemption and is something I would like to see Panini do also (like the special release Black Friday packs).
 
Well mine arrived today, not worth scanning base cards because thats it, not a numbered insert to be seen, actually only numbers are the card numbers themselves. :(

Here's my haul from the group break and a few other of Al's breaks. Fair few inserts and parallels also, though not many were Rams. Sharpe is available and the Lions will likely be once I redeem them...

Hey there Shannan, this redemption business has me confused. Is the purpose of redemptions just to give the manufacturer time to get the cards signed after the main release? That explains my recent R&S redemption query with Panini. Sent in 2 together and only got one back. The cards are exactly the same as others that come in packs - signature jersey cards. This would explain everything but leaves me a bit cold if I have to wait weeks or months for them to get the cards signed.

You should get the other one...eventually! Some players are just slow sending in their autos or there's an issue in producing the card. Can be weeks but I think months is usually the norm. Quite often if it takes too long you'll be asked if you want to keep waiting or get a replacement...sometimes you might just get sent a replacement anyway! It is probably the single worst thing about this hobby these days...
 
Thanks Trevor, I wasn't too worried because Panini seem to have heaps of info available. I just wasn't aware of the redemption process being dependent on actually having the cards to send. I'm used to NRL & Cricket where they have the top end hits as redemptions and they are available immediately. Although rumour has it that the recent Cricket release has the same issue with redemptions. All of the signatures in that set are redemptions by the way. :confused:
 
Yeah as AusRam said these are only put into packs when the cards were not available come release for whatever reason - normally because the player has not returned the cards he was suppose to sign or something along those lines. This is why you will find that certain players will have a lot of redemptions out for their cards.

I never understood why in the NRL releases for example, they would include a redemption for a card they already made and ready. Seems pointless to me!
 
Grabbed mine out of the letterbox on my way to work n opened it on the train. Nice looking cards. Gridiron base looks surprisingly good. Also happy with my Danny White patch. Teehee
 
I hope mine are stilling at home waiting for me when I arrive! Other than the Watt auto I got in my of my early breaks I cannot remember thes rest of my pulls. But I am really looking forward to the Marcell Reece base card from Gridiron (one of his only cards available) :whistle:
