The Official 2012-13 EPL Thread

Need Nani back asap despite all the rubbish involving his future at the club. It's a sad fact that i am more confident in Patrice Evra's crossing abilities than Ashley Young's. Absolutely shocking ball 90% of the time. Not good enough. And once again, United make it hard for themselves. Frustrating. Where's the man marking?

What a crazy first half. Poor to say the least. United lead 4-3 but it should be 5-3, another example of why goal-line technology is needed NOW, not in a few months time.

Hope Sir Alex gives them a spray at half time and gets their backsides into gear, defending at corners is completely non-existent, its embarrassing for sure! Good substitutions so far though, 4 tall defenders at CB will make things a bit more solid you would have thought. Yes Rafael has a reason to be annoyed at being subbed early but when you put in rash tackles over and over again you're going to get sent off, and with a yellow card already, sooner rather than later. Carn United

Oh dear.

Don't speak to soon. RM up 2 nil.

Not that City have a knack of pulling s*** out of their arse or anything.

They wouldn't have been playing Champions League football even if they won, they would have entered the Europa League in the Round of 32 so there was no risk of speaking too soon haha.

"We were up against a weakened team and we had to win. We should be fighting to go through to the last 16 on the last day of the group stage and we've only got ourselves to blame that we're not."- Joe Hart

I respect Hart (hate to say it haha) and reckon he is a top goalkeeper, would have him at United any day of the week. It's good to see that he acknowledges that it was his own sides fault for not getting through rather than doing the conventional footballer's blame b.s after losing a match or in this case failing to progress. Hate managers/teams who'd rather focus their blame on the officials/other team/away fans and that sort of thing.. admit that you weren't good enough on the night and move on from it.

i had a thought.
United have won it 19 times
So they have been champions 19 times
= CHAMP19NS

Now that is settled, keen for some champions league football, not that you'd want to talk about that ljandkg :D

Settled?? Pfffft! Nice try.

Yeah but they're currently NOT champions.

Because they've been champs 19 times, does that mean you can put 'We are champions' even when they're not??

What sort of fucked up logic is that?

U could put

We are champions, UCL champions, FA Cup champions, League Cup Champions, Charity shield champions etc then... we pretty much all could.

Then u could do the same for Aussie sports too!!
We are Rugby WC champions
Rugby league WC champions
Cricket WC champions etc....
just cos you've won them before....

Basically you're being arrogant.

We WERE champions - fair enough - we ARE champions... Nup. You didn't win anything last year.

As for the UCL - I'll talk about it all u want...and have been through this thread.... what do u wanna discuss??

ahaha i achieved what i set out to achieve there, just firing you up mate! I know we aren't the current champions... i am educated you see :) And i'm not an arrogant person so that settles that argument, if i was arrogant i'd say United are going to wipe City this weekend. I'm confident in my team, i think we can win but its a going to be a tough game for sure, while i try to be confident i do question the defence and whether it will hold up. That's me being realistic and non arrogant.

Anyway, seems like my UCL coverage luck has ended. No United game on SBS or ESPN. Stream it is.

Would be sure interesting to see if Chelsea progress to the next stage or drop into the Europa League. I'm hoping for a 1-0 Juventus win or even a draw to lead Shakhtar to 11 points and Juve to 10. Assuming Chelsea win, its all up to goal difference but you'd think (obviously depending on the Juve v Shakhtar game) Chelsea will have to put at least 3 past Nordsjælland

Hahaha. Hook, line and sinker. Enjoy your trophy. It's only on loan.

We can probably not worry not discussing UCL. How about we discuss the Europa?

On another matter did anyone see that Kevin Sheedy wants to catch up with Fergie to see how he can make the GWS & Swans rivalry like the United & City rivalry? What a muppet.

So if you're not the current champions - why's that champions thing still up there? U didn't win anything but the the most injured team last year.

Ooneil - I'm delighted we're not in the EL - All we have left is the FA Cup and the EPL..... we'll be fresh as daisies week after week. Will pay for it next year though... I'm thinking next year our UCL pool will be Barca, Real Madrid and Brazil...

I'm sure Roman Abramovich is gutted he's gotta travel to Outer Mongolia to play in ankle deep snow midweek through the winter.

Utd lose to the Transylvanians... 15th time they've been behind this year and they've won 10 - pretty crazy stat. Says a lot about both ends of the field I guess.

The Manchester Derby this weekend.... looks like Cleverly is out. If Silva is fit I'll go as far as to say we'll win it... League's best offence vs league's best D, with the side issue being City's stuttering offence trying to score against Utd's generous D....

Reading banged in 3 from corners/set pieces last wekeend. City tend to play Aguero and Tevez who don't trouble teams at set pieces much. Wonder if Mancini would consider Balotelli and Dzeko playing together....

Midfield as always will be important. City have pretty much dominated the Rags the last few derbies there.

Whatever happens I can't wait - two best teams in the land. Utd are either 6 clear or City will be ahead on Goal Diff... I'd doubt it's a draw, Utd haven't had one all year....

They have been Champions 19 times. Jesus christ.

Just like to add something else.
1. Taste it Hazard.
2. Taste it Javi Garcia
