On average, about 20-30% goes towards the store's commission.

As an agent we get 10% of what we make for the store. So, technically I get 2-3% of the policy in my pocket.

When buying travel insurance what should you look out for? Meaning, and I guess this goes for any type of insurance is...... what should you make sure is included? Cause you often hear about stuff going awry on holiday and then the insurance company saying "oh, that wasn't covered"; I mean, in your experience is there some common stuff that comes up - or do you not handle that much!?

Main things you want to be looking for is Unlimited cover for Overseas Medical & Dental, Unlimited cover for Additional Expenses and Cancellation and Amendment cover.

What about things like..... say you took an expensive camera and you took out "item coverage" or whatever the correct term is..... I've heard of people taking out cover for this but then saying they weren't covered because it wasn't covered if you dropped it, or a monkey smashed or ran away with it or something lol

Yeah, that's down to the individual companies fine print. I don't really deal alot with that kinda thing because we only offer one companies insurance and it covers absolutely everything.

We get our insurance through Covermore. You just need to get the "Options" policy

We use about 4 different programs for different things, as for reservation systems there are 4 main reservation systems that most companies to do with aviation from Travel Agents to Airlines to Air Traffic Control will use one of.
