But i agree, they should give Starc a go. A couple of articles i have read don't even have Starc in the running for the spot 
Surely he should be first in line at the moment though.
I would hope (with no offence intended to Mitchell Johnson!) that it is Mitchell Starc who is picked, otherwise what sort of message does it send to a bloke who was a 50-50 chance to play in Brisbane ("4 quicks" option) or Adelaide as a straight swap for Hilfy and who has ben 12th Man for the last two Tests?
South Africa don't half get themselves into strife at times - 37 runs in 2 1/4 hours is almost pointless, unless those arseclowns who regularly predict the End Of The World have accurately pencilled in 26th November! It now means that they have no chance of putting enough pressure on Michael Clarke's captaincy tomorrow morning, as even if the first session was to go for 100 runs without a wicket, SA would still need 4 an over through the entire afternoon on a wearing pitch.

Yep, poor old Andy "specialist Twelfthie" Bichel! Good point, Brendan. I sometimes think that it comes down to the Captain's influence too, I remember reading somewhere that Mark Taylor was of the opinion that Michael Kasprowicz couldn't bowl a hoop downhill! Likewise, Steve Waugh publicly and very openly pushed for Brett Lee to debut in the Boxing Day Test against India in 1999.

One of the bravest things I have seen by an Australian cricketer, I thought the poor bastard was going to actually collapse at one stage.
Absolutely amazing effort. He has such a huge heart and motor and to be sending them down at 140+ in the last over just shows how much wearing the baggy green means to him.
I thought Lyon was also great, his spinning finger must be blistered badly. The effort put in the field too was nothing short of amazing and while we didn't win the game I think the boys (& SA) can hold their heads high for producing a great match and showing why test cricket is the ultimate form of the game and test of a players ability!
There's no doubt that Siddle puts in the effort....but he can't take enough wickets and that is what wins games...Hilfenhaus is even worse at getting wickets. I know these guys are trying their hearts out but the results are not good enough. That game should have been won easily. If you are trying really hard at your job but getting bad results....guess what you get fired. As soon as there are good fit replacements available for them they need to be dropped.
