Just saw this on the news and its just amazing.

Had this here in Perth a few years ago but don't think it compares.

Hours after Brisbane was plunged into near-darkness by a major storm with driving rain and high winds, another severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of southeast Queensland, including Brisbane.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe thunderstorm warning in southeast Queensland at 8.14 pm for parts of Brisbane city, Sunshine Coast, Gympie, Moreton Bay, Cherbourg Shire, Somertset and South Burnett.
The storms were expected to bring damaging winds, heavy rainfall, flash flooding and large hailstones.

day's earlier storm hit at about 11am.
As Brisbane was bucketed by 10mm of rain in only 10 minutes, there were more than 11,000 lightning strikes across southeast Queensland and winds gusts reached 90 km/h, according to Energex.
About 11,000 homes and businesses in Brisbane, Ipswich and in the Somerset area lost power, with more than 100 fallen power lines reported across southeast Queensland.
There were ‘‘major delays’’ on all train lines as a result of power outages.
The Queensland State Emergency Service responded to more than 72 pleas for help, mostly from Brisbane residents asking for assistance with leaking roofs and fallen trees.
In Ann Street in the CBD, a hotel ceiling collapsed.
‘‘It turned day into night,’’ an SES worker said of the storm.
‘‘It came quickly and then it left.’’
Energex said with 100 crews out responding to calls, it had restored power to the majority of homes and business affected by outages by 3 pm.
By 6.30pm about 300 homes remained without power, with the majority of the outages continuing in the Algester area south of Brisbane.
An Energex spokeswoman said they were unsure as to when power would be returned to the area as the repairs were ‘‘complicated’’.
‘‘We are working through the problems and doing it as quickly as we can,’’ she said.
In Ipswich, a small grass fire was sparked when lightning struck a crane next to the city’s hospital just after 10am but the incoming rain extinguished it, a Department of Community Services (DCS) spokeswoman said.
The Bureau of Meterology said severe thunderstorms were also likely to produce damaging winds over the next few hours in parts of the Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Central Highlands and Coalfields, Central West and Maranoa and Warrego districts.
BoM Queensland Regional Director Rob Webb warned of more severe storms to come.
"This event is a timely reminder of the fact that we are still yet to reach the peak of the storm season, and therefore we need to remain alert," he said.
Here’s how the earlier storms in Brisbane unfolded.
1.52PM: Translink reports train commuters should still expect ‘‘residual delays’’ of up to 30 minutes across the network as a result of the power outage caused by today’s storm.
And crews are still working to restore power to about 7600 homes including more than 6000 in the Brisbane City Council area, according to Energex.

Hope all the QLD boys are staying safe.

Nice work on the info, I was wondering how serious it was. I've been out to dinner (the power in the restaurant went out at one stage) and came home to a very scared little dog:(

And there is a leak in our house, ha ha. Must be a bad storm out there.

Had a bit of a storm on the Gold Coast but nothing bad...Brisbane copped the worst of it earlier today.

Hope the little dog is ok?

Also hope the leak wasn't in the card room?

Ha ha, yeah she's fine, first storm and she was just scared. Some crazy lightning and thunder around.

Need to check the news for the damage report.

Leak was at the other end of the house luckily:thumbsup:

Thanks for the concern.

Near Warwick earlier.

This is/was not a normal storm.
Twas a super cell.

Water spout = ocean bound tornado like phenomenon? Like wise I hope all are safe. We had mini brief lasting tornadoes near Hobart earlier this week... not a very common phenomenon in Tassie.
