With all of the Exquisite, National Treasures and now Leaf Ultimate cards around which have some sort of inscriptions on them, I have often wondered whether or not the players themselves are the ones who inscribe the cards.

For example,

The GOAT himself ;) - The inscription/nickname looks like it could have been written by someone else, but, when you look at others in the set:

It does look like the players are doing the nickname or inscriptions.

But, is this the case with all of them?

In the 11-12 Exquisite, there are the Personal Touch cards which are missing their inscriptions, so you would assume the player was meant to do it.

But how do you explain this:

I don't know much about the card company's but didn't upper deck get in trouble for not paying the players? That d rib up the top is definitely suspect. There was only one in the set that had his nickname on it, it was the 1/25 version and I had it!

I just read what I wrote!! I meant to say there was only 1 card with the nickname and the inscription, the inscription on this one in question doesn't look right.

I used to work for a company that would often get things signed by profile sports stars for there business to sell to the public and they knew for a fact that they were not signing the items themselves one was infact getting his girlfriend to do it.

I am no writing expert  BUT I reckon he has done this as the sig is up high and the loops on the letters in wildcats look the same as his sig, he has run out of room to finish cats so printed it underneath as well. Look at it closely and he has run out of card

I did think about that, but why would he have allowed enough room for 3 lines if he didn't yet know he was going to run out of room?

It looks to me like the 'KENTUCKY WILDCATS' is written on the bottom before he got it, so he tried to fit 2 lines above it. The main reason I think that is the 'W' in Wildcats. Even when changing from cursive to print, you usually maintain the shape in the bottom of the "W"

Look At the Doron Lamb for example two different blue Inks???

I always wondered about inscriptions.

What about the Lillard pulled on Blowout?

Did Lillard write the inscription, send it back, then Leaf packed it out? Or did someone at leaf write the inscription and another person thought that was signed!

Yeah first 2 lines look the same color, third line different.

Good thinking 99

There has been a thread on this a while back. It actually spoke about UD signing the Inscriptions themselves for UD Black set. Can't find it. I wouldn't be shocked if the players didn't do it.

Check out the lebron on the right. looks like whoever did the inscription pressed down A LOT harder
(or used a different sharpie) to the person who signed...
