Why are signature Tazos underated if only around 10 - 20 were made for each player????

Guys i do not have any of these signature Tazos but they sound great if you ask me!!!!.... I have been told there are 2 signature Broncos Tazos from 2006 and 3 from 2007.... I would be keen to try and see if anyone has any Broncos ones to sell at market price.....

Tazos are not for the collectors today. But as we get older and we start to earn more money hopefully. Then kids now adults will want what they had as a kid. E>G there tazos back. Smart kids will have keep them, some kids will have these sigs tucked away without knowing they have them and a s**t load of kids will damage and throw them away. Then they will be highly collectible. Anyone with sig tazos in 15 to 20 yrs welcome to your golden rich retirement days. You think 63 scanlens are dear. live a little longer and hopefully you might see what these tazos will be worth.

I don't think kids know these signature tazos exist. I didn't until I joined here..... My guess is - yeah they'll want tazos..... The "shiny" ones they looked for as a kid..

I have heard plenty of stories about a lot of these being stolen during production. May just be an urban myth though but would explain some of scarcity.

Does anyone even know for sure what the actual production run was?? I'm pretty sure Tak rang Smith's and they had no idea.

even if a bunch werent stolen from the factory before release, theres no way to know how many are actually out there. all the packets of chips that went past their expiration date wouldve been thrown out by multiple businesses. they may have made 20 for 2007, but thats not to say 20 made it out of their packets. who knows how many were destroyed/laying at the bottom of the local tip or just not opened and discarded by disinterested chip eaters.
i always thought they should be worth more, and i think as time goes on, they will be.

Yeah i was 1st told 10 but then the number 20 popped up!!!!.... I was thinking , would it be rude for example when someone was getting just say a IP signature from a player from that 2006 or 2007 signature series to ask them how many did they actually sign for Smiths???? If i meet Locky again next year i was thinking of asking him how many did he sign and he surely would remember a low numbered signing session????

Correct, I contacted Smiths Head Office and spoke with a number of people and there was no information saved on the various production runs. A good friend is also a maintenance supervisor for Smiths last at the Cannon Hill factory and he eye witness accounts of staff pinching tazo's etc.

Personally I think they are a highly undervalued item, I know they arn't cards but as far as authorised NRL signed product, they are some of the hardest to find.

I also have lead to believe there was ten of each player for some time now. A Good friend of mine was a one of the top sales reps for smiths in Sydney at the time the sigs were released and he could not tell me how many there where in the releases. Although he did see a few framed sets of sig tazos that where bound for the CEO and top level staff. Another collector recently informed me that there were 20 of each made of the 2007 set. As he had closer connections with the smiths company than I. Smiths will not release any information on these tazos. They might be doing this as there was a stabbing that happened in the playground in New Zealand over a tazo I dont know. I am sure there reason would be legitimate. There is also a tazo web site that indicates 10 where made for 2007 season but I believe this could be false.

Yes, that's why they stopped having rugby union ones in chip packets over here. After that, they only seemed to be in breakfast cereals.

I don't think there were ever any signed tazos in NZ though, I'm fairly sure that stabbing was just over a regular tazo.

Pretty unbelievable incident! Especially for somewhere like NZ!!!

The more i hear about these signature Tazos , the more i want to know about them.... Has anyone on this forum have a complete set of signatures from the club they follow????.... Also whats my chances of finding all the Broncos ones????
