if people keep selling $300 cards for $150 then it becomes only worth $150 in the market...

these peopl out there that want high $$ for there cards are actually helping control the prices from dropping...
the ones that come in and undercut selling cheap are the ones doing the damage to the market prices....

Might be better for the hobby, but not for me... I want the card in my PC lol

when you got people that are in it for the hobby and people in it for the investment, there will always be a conflict in prices.

like chilli said..... if everyone sells cards cheaper the value of those cards go down..... yes great for the hobby/pc collector bad for investing. and yes trading cards started as a hobby, but it has truly changed its face to an investment opportunity also.....

its no different for me in collecting comics....

Yeah $150 if it is a 'typical' patch, maybe $200 if it is extra NASTY!

But really, it must come down to how much the seller wants to sell. I know I am less motivated to give a good price on a card I love! Although, I will sell anything for a GOOD price!

urrghh i agree too ive noticed it, i offered someone a decent pricefor a card, they doubled my offer price, then i found it on ebay for half the price of my offer.....

simple solution: dont buy it if your not happy with the price

at the end of the day.. it's his/her card and he/she can sell it for what ever he/she wants. market value is just a guideline.. u might think it worth $20.. but the person might think it's worth $60. not happy.. move on.. I'd just let it go.. go on with life and reeelllaaxxxx lol I'm sure all of us have over paid for PC Cards .

I am kind of with you on this one Arthy. In the end its their card they can name their price. Doesn't mean it will sell at that price and they will eventually learn and have to lower the price.

If you know 100% though they are jacking the price up to take advantage of the situation then this is just down right dirty. I am in more of the boat I'll sell a card cheaper or give someone preference over a card if I know its a PC player of theirs. Its also a lot easier to sell a card on here rather than have to go through the pain of listing it on ebay.

I'd hope someone would be a bit lenient on price if it's a main PC player.

That being said, it depends on how the price proposal came about, say I asked someone a price on an Aminu I need, not knowing how attached to the card they are I might get a good or bad price, which is fair enough. I have some NT RPA's which might be of someones PC player, but since it's my fav set I'd have to get a pretty go offer to move them. If it's the other way and they approach you with a very high offer knowing if for PC, I think that is pretty unjust.

Agree with you on this mate. You don't know how much the card might mean to that person. For example, the first ever pack of cards I got form my news agent I got a Shaq GU. Not numbered or anything, just a normal GU, maybe 4-5 dollar value. But because it was my first ever pull, I'd ask more for it because it means more to me then some other cards

When i was a kid, and i first started collecting, i used to always talk to my boss about card prices (when i say boss, i mean the guy who ran the newsagent i did paper rounds at), he always said the same thing to me

"A card is only worth what someone else will pay for it" you know what, he was right.

So yes it sucks that people jack up the price but if they know you want it badly why not, its all supply and demand. The higher the demand the higher the price.
