2012/13 Australian Cricket (*SPOILERS*)

JP Duminy ruptured his Achilles tendon kicking a football round as part of a team warm down after play....out for 6 months. Ouch!

A good morning session with the new ball on Day 2 and it's game on, although we didn't look very potent in attack. A bad moring session and SA score 600.

I can't believe they left Stark out simply for the variety and Siddle needs a feed or two of rare steak.

The bowlers weren't at their best yesterday although Duminy's injury effectively makes it 3/255 and with the sceond new ball due, gives us a real chane to make inroads today.

I can see this one ending in a surprisingly high-scoring draw, there is a bit of rain around Brisbane and Graeme Smith is a fairly conservative captain and I reckon he would be looking for 500+ before he declares.

Fair dinkum the number of "must read" cricket journalists/writers diminishes by the year doesn't it? One day into the summer and apparently our blokes are no good!

Update - a good day for spring cleaning, walking the dog or watching DVD's..........it is fair pissing down in Brisbane, no hope of a start before lunch, the ground looks flooded in some areas!

Yes, as Harsha put it more eloquently than I did :-) Ah well, In SA we have the Christmas Pageant being televised on channel 9 now......and apparently there seems to be pre-match coverage of THAT!

i thought they all bowled well without luck,255 runs in 82 overs not that quick a run rate, this morning seisson with new ball will be vital
still no real dangers to the batsman though. we need some more consistent questioning of the batsman and a bit of express pace wouldn't go astray

Yeah they kept the run rate at a good level, but Siddle and Hilfenhaus have struggled for a long time to get wickets except on the odd occasion they get a good haul. It is a real problem when what you need from your opening pace attack is at least a couple of wickets or more in the first session. We really need a couple of good strike bowlers with some intimidating pace. The reason SA scored slowly is they let go anything that was too wide and a lot of the stuff we bowled was crap outside the stumps that could be let go easily.

What a surprise, Warner out early and the South African bowlers actually bowling like opening bowlers who take wickets.

Haha Ponting...and another batting collapse...this team is seriously bad. Warner is not a test opener, it is time Ponting retired while he still has the tiniest bit of dignity left, Siddle and Hilfenhaus have had too many chances over the last few years. Once Cummins is fit, which is unfortunately a long way off, they need to play him, Pattison and Starc...if we are going to lose we may as well get new blood into the team.

Pessimist?

Nope just a realist mate. Everything i said is true, those players have played badly more often than not over the last couple of years. Siddle and Hilfenhaus always struggle to take wickets, Ponting has gotten low scores in nearly all of his innings over the past few years and Warner is only suited to the shorter forms of the game.
