Dont know much about graded cards (dont own any) but I am bidding on a PSA 8 card. Just wondering it's market value generally vs an ungraded card in pack fresh condition that you wouldn't intend to grade.... A couple of opinions will be great

Me personally. I don't see the point of buying a graded card (at a premium price that is) unless its mint. Unless you are talking about an older/vintage card. Completely different story. Depends on the card and set.

I really appreciate the feedback guys. I am not bidding on this because it's graded, I need it for my PC and it is rare /5... I have no interest in an "8" graded as such, just the card inside... thanks again guys... just will bid what I am happy to pay for the card with no influence of the fact it's slabbed, if someone beats me so be it

Then you have a very good reason on trying to win it.

Graded cards "shouldnt" deteriate over time in storage, so once an 8, always an 8 if you catch on. Where as a raw card always has that chance of becomming damaged through one way or another.

When talking vintage cards, and most likely yours isnt a vintage card (#/5), but a PSA 8 is a VERY good grade for a Bill Russell RC, and would demand quite a premium over the raw version.

I understand that a John Wall RC Auto PSA 8 probably wouldnt be as high in value as a raw one as you have a confirmation that it's not a 10 and most likely won't ever be one, but most certainly when talking older stuff, PSA 8s can be good/great!

I sent some Harris cards off for PSA grading a fair while back, and some came back as 8s. I was happy given the rarity on some of them, knowing that they'll always be that grade, or remain in that condition, as opposed to a raw on in a holder.

Got it today :kick:

Tiny ding on the edge of one corner which can only be seen when really looking for it and in pretty much the right light (I spent a good 5 minutes searching for any other flaw)- Man Ive pack pulled MUCH worse than this - Must be hard to get a 10
