Em I the only 1 that is disappointed that this category is still called soccer rather then football. It's not like your going to get it mixed up with aussie rules because that category is clearly labeled AFL.

I'd say you probably are! It is 'OZ cardtrader', and here it is called soccer ;)

BTW - its 'Am' not bloody 'Em'!:p

Its because there's so many codes over here it's easier to have a name for each code.
In a lot of European , south American , Asian and African countries it's known as football because it's the main sport.
At the end of the day it's the world game and in most countries around the world its called football.

Some people call table tennis 'ping pong', but there is no point get upset about it! haha

the english came up with both names and the game so i guess there both as valid as each other, but they only made up soccer to avoid confusion. short for association football. assoc. then socca. then soccer.
altho it is the only code were its limited to the use of a 'foot', so it has always baffled me why the others can call themselves football? plus football came first.

are YOU a school teacher? :p

or.... footandheadballbutthekeepercanusehishands

I bet 'soccer' is looking good now!

No soccer isn't sounding good. It is the origin of all football codes. What would you call Gridiron then and rugby. It is legally called football in this country now, if you look at the a league website you will not find soccer written once other then referring to the socceroos (lets not get me started about that ridiculous name).

Why does everyone think they are english teachers. Screw your proper spelling, use of commas etc. etc. lol I get enough of that crap at home with my partner thinking she is a english teacher.

Using some common sense here, can you imagine the confusion and number of misplaced posts by calling these forums "Football" ?

If you don't like the naming, i'll just remove the "Soccer" forums and put them in with the "All Other Sports" forums. Would that make you happy ?
