How can we stop this seller with their fake Jordan patches?

Have noticed that you have listed this as a 1/1.
Infact this card had a print run of 200.
So I would suggest you change the Description of you item.

PSA, BGS, and any grading company for that matter, have no clue what they're doing when it comes to the memorabilia pieces in the card, they're just grading the condition of the card and/or authenticating a card. This should definitely change.... but then again, how can they really stay on top of this? It's up to the card companies to come up with some kinf of picture database of every memorabilia card, except of course plain jersey cards. But for a short print, for example, a card numbered to 25 or so, they should picture them all in their website, even if it's just a plain jersey.

At the end of the day, it's very hard to do, as these guys will find a way.... we all have them to thank for ruining it for all of us true collectors.
 
If they are going to authentic something then isnt their job to ensure its authentic?? Otherwise whats the point?

These guys are not much better than the thieves that make these fakes.

I must have forgot to mention.... they authenticate the card itself, not the memoralia, nor the autograph. They have a service where they authentic the auto, it's called JSA - James Spence Authentication, and they slab it in a BGS holder. But no such service for memorabilia cards.

For autographed cards, they make sure it's a pack sertified autograph, and then they just grade it and pass it as authentic. Sometimes you can get people who get blank extra cards from the companies and get them graded in person by the player, and those still pass the grading and they slab it with a grade, so they take it as being an authentic card.

For the memorabilia cards we have no luck.... anybody can put whatever patch and they'll most likely grade/slab it. Unless of course you put a cookie monster patch piece which it totally obvious and they might send it back ungraded LOL, but I doubt even that! So yes, I agree with you, they're just has much to blame as the scum of our hobby.

I know stay away from grading all together due to many reasons..... magnetic and team bag for me to keep the dust away and scratches on the holder.
 
As someone who does not do basketball but has a lot to do with ebay and theses sort of things i have to put up with but in his add this is where ebay will say he has not lied and i have been throught it many of times his wording in the adds is.
The forth worn in is how he gets away with it this may sound silly but because he has not told you its 1/1 that how.
Just for the record before anyone has a go at me i dont deal with this guy i dont know the guy but this is why he gets away with it.

I am not defending it i have to put up with crap like that all the time with signed item people not tell someone who uys something that its a preprint.
This is a play on words thats what it is and if he is not outright lying then ebay will not do anything about it and thats what it is,it takes 8 different reports to ebay from different buyers and sellers for them to look into anything.

I know you are not defending him, the fact of the matter is he knows that the print run is 200 and therefor this could not possibly be a 1/1.
So the word seems is made redundant if he knows.
 
You guys are missing the point. The patch is fake, we are all used to "ebay" 1/1's, thats nothing new.
