Another low collecting moment.....

I recently(in the past 2 days) had a deal with a member on this site for a Case of Fleer Retro. The only thing l had not done was pay as they wanted to confirm the price once they picked the stock up from the PO (They were waiting on Custom fees). I confirmed with them yesterday one case would be put aside for me.

Well today, l called to pay for the cases and was told there are none left and if there is any left after the weekend l maybe able to get some. "The business had to look after the "Local Collectors" first and the bills needed to be paid". I asked the question if he was "Re-neging on the deal we agreeded upon" and the answer was "You can look at it that way". I guess the ozcards members are not local customers

Now l understand the prices of this stock has gone through the roof and was happy to pay a bit more. l wasnt even given the chance to make an offer for the stock. But now l'm stuck with no product and the feel of disapointment has made me reassess my view of my collecting.

I've run alot of case shares on this site and have had to wear some extra costs l didnt expect but l never "Re-neged" on any deal.

Not looking for a hug but good to vent publicly sometimes.

I WILL NOT BE NAMING THE MEMBER AS I UNDERSTANDING HIS POSITION BUT I AM READY PISSED OFF.
 
Man that's terrible. Hope you get the case eventually!!

And on the title....I don't leave, I just take extended breaks so I don't start spending heaps of cash on cards haha. I think everyone agrees there is more important stuff to spend money on in life then cards!
 
Just for what its worth, this is only my side of the situation, if the member has a whole different take, my respect and opion of this person will fall even further.
 
Another oct member (i won't mention any names) had set up cases from 4 different sellers and 3 of the 4 so far have renigged on original prices! Goes to show what type of people we have amongst us here.

Im all for local businesses getting some action but where the F have the morals gone? I've always been an advocate of the saying don't sh!t where you eat.
 
Dude that is crap. Really sorry to hear that "the almighty dollar" wins out over doing the right thing...AGAIN. Hope that karma kicks him in the ass, and brings you a Jordan Green PMG once you get your case, although you would now need a massive hit like that just to pay for the outrageous case price.

And these are the guys that want OCT members to support their business.

It goes both ways.
 
Its never nice to see this situation happening....:(

But it could be everywhere right now, not just in Aus...

It means only one thing, though.... We will see less CASE breaks of this stuff on here... ggrrrrrr.:mad:
 
unfortunately that's a common story this week. it's a shame. the profit they are getting from dishonour is relatively big in this instance. but it really shows their true character and regardless of how much money is involved they'll probably do the same. these kind of "business" people can get quick spikes on profit once in a while, but they will inevitably look back and wonder how and where things went wrong.

even though their Retro prices have gone up for obvious reasons. Perth's only reputable card shop, in my opinion, operated by Peter and his son are the only ones I've heard of that has honoured their pre-order price, including word of honour. And it's no coincidence that they have survived since they began in the 90s while others come and go. For the record I did not get any Fleer Retro from them. But just before Linsanity happened I asked if they could hold onto 2 cases of NT for me while I get cash together. When I went to pick up the cases, all the case prices were more than doubled. I was willing to pay more, but Peter said we had a deal. I told him to ring his son to make sure and his son said the same thing.
 
I agree with Elek, name and shame. The name of the member needs to be revealed as we do not need people who are in this game to blatantly profit from others. Obviously this person has never heard of the terminology "Gentlemans Agreement"

And if the seller has "bills to pay" then why are they buying product when there is obviously more important things in their live. Also wouldn't the money they would be getting back from Ming help with these bills.

I have my suspicions as to who the other party may be
