All of them were weak tacklers early in their careers. Allan developed and perfect the trip (legal type) and have never seen anyone do it better or rather just plain do it since

He reminds me of the dads you see on the field in the under 6s.

Ray Price with the Cumberland throw was probably the original pioneer, although he could tackle as well.

I'm pretty sure it was a Pommy player that joined the Eels in the mid 60's that introduced the Cumberland throw to Parramatta in 5/8 Ivor Lingard, features in the Scanlens cards from that era

Yep your right, you are a true fan, the tackles origins are from Cumberland in England and Ivor along with Fred Pickup and a few other imports introduced it, but as they are both Pommies we shouldn't really count them?

I suppose more accuratley I should have said popularised it for my generation.
