ESP Release on Ebay

So with 180 packs in a case it's basically 6 signature cards per case. 10 boxes in a case so there will be 4 boxes out of 10 that have nothing in them but base and 6 parallel cards??? Umm, i'm not so sure about this now.

By my calc, roughly 2/3 boxes should have either a sig or a jersey patch card.

Btw I know cases are for sale on the bay for $1400 but I'm told the wholesale price from Ikon Collectibles is $1100.

Even at that price I fail to see the money in these cases.

The mix of inserts is horrible - how can you go from a 1:3 insert and jump to a 1:36 insert without anything else in between. Dynamic marketing version 2.0.

Interesting to see how the market responds to this release, if I had any more cash I would buy an other box of Dynasty, better odds.

So how much would the signature cards fetch at these odds? I would expect at least $500.00 each

Initially $150-$180 because that's what sellers will need to sell them for to make money off the case. (The 1st couple of weeks people will probably pay more than that)

Then, due to the insane volume of these cards i can't see them holding value and the price will be forced down...sellers will see that there is little money in selling the inserts (which i guess was ESP's goal to start with) and will be trying to push sealed boxes/cases.

Michael, do you think we are going to see a dramatic shift in the price of base sets and parallel sets? I think Parallel sets more so with ESP.

I think the base sets could be cheaper when you look at Dynasty as a comparison

If Dynasty is a 390 case release = 4680 boxes (at around 1.5 base sets per box) = 7020 sets
ESP is a 840 case = 8400 boxes (only just short of 2 base sets per box with 144 cards per box minus 6 parallels and any signature cards) Around 16,000 sets.

You would think parallel sets will be solid though with a case not producing a set...maximum 700 sets available which likely gets close to halved by the fact that many people just collect their teams' players

Is that right...16,000 sets seems absolutely ridiculously high...you will struggle to give them away 20 years from now.

edit: well i guess some Champions releases are said to be 20,000 boxes so i guess it is relative....if rep sets garner the same attention that NRL teams sets do???
