Official 2012-13 Offseason thread - trades, rumours, etc

Minny have a thing for forwards lately hey!

LOL @ Bulls and their moves. At least the Mavs made good after their moves (or lack of to start the off-season).

I know they picked up Hinrich again, but they really need to pick up a pg to replace Rose till he gets back up!

This is why I think they are aiming to tank this year. Picking up 1 year contract deals.

Then they hoping to get some lottery draft picks and then use them for trade bate.

I know the FA next year will have some big names, but we knwo their track record at picking up the big names, so not banking on them to get anything good unless they willing to go into luxury tax.

SO CONFUSED RIGHT NOW AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Sources: Magic GM Rob Hennigan had hour-long meeting with Dwight Howard today in LA. Howard reiterated his desire to be as soon a possible.
Howard informed Hennigan that he has no desire to stay with the Magic and will leave as a free agent if the team decides against trading him this season.
Magic GM Rob Hennigan not rushing to move Howard without a trade that offers "acceptable compensation" for the six-time All-Star.

WOAH, Minny paying big bucks for AK!!

more on that...

From what I've read about the Dwight Howard drama. Orlando are the ones handling it the wrong way, the man has asked for a trade, so TRADE THE GUY. Don't continue to refuse to trade him.

I hope they dont trade him, he leaves as a FA and they get nothing.

I'm guessing ORL won't trade his arse just yet, as they're not satisfied with the offers. The offers being presented are pretty crap really, but in saying that, the team that's going to land DH (lol, Dick Head!), is basically only going to be "renting" him for the season as he intends to go via FA.

The dude's a schmuck, IMO, and whilst that might change if he becomes a Mav next season (doubt he will), this is no way to behave as a professional.

In DH's eyes tho, he's waited long enough for ORL management to put something together for him, but every time they do, they screw it up, and/or let players walk out. It's no wonder he wants out.

thats why the Magic need to work a sign and trade and move him so it doesnt start effecting the team come tip off. I think both side r playing it wrong and far to publicly but at the end of the day they both want alot different things from this all and they have to meet somewhere in the middle and both be done with it. I think u will find Dwight will be ok where ever he lands, dont forget this drama has been going on for a loooonnnggg time not just this year.

That'll depend on when the new CBA comes into effect too, cos teams over the cap WON'T be able to do S&T deals when over the cap.

Also, re: schedule, looks like the Mavs will be @ LAL to start the season;

Bryan Gutierrez‏@BallinWithBryan
Opening night is Tuesday, October 30th and the Mavericks will be the nightcap as they take on the Lakers in Los Angeles (9:30 CST).
