Where you have your PC's and set chases and just lose interest in them?

Well I'm there right now and I'm not quite sure what to do... Well pretty much at the moment, I have 3 PC's and a chase, One PC and the Chase I'm bored with. The other PC is one that I will always have and the last PC I love collecting but can be out of my price range at times.

What do I do about it? lol

Kind of in the same situation, gradually scaling back the Randolph, Ibaka and Frye PCs until I'm left with all the RC/low-numbered stuff, even tried to get a Randolph Game-worn Jersey and Shorts just a few days ago but I missed out :(

Also just realised that I never sent out the Frye and Cousins yet, or set up a deal thread LOL

LOL... Should probably get on that. :cautious:

I'm waiting on those for a mailday  haha

Well I am at the point where I am happy with minem hit a brick wall! I take the opportunity to pick up trade bait, finding steals on ebay or just upgrading any cards I already have! It's actually fun being at this point lol

Maybe start a new chase!

Honestly, everyone goes through this phase....im teh same way at the moment.....THEN.....a nice card pops up and you are sucked back in again.

I think its all about moderation........ive learnt that you dont need every card a few now and then will suffice. In saying that bought my first card in a while on ebay today.....cant wait till it arrives!

What Alf said. I too have been through that stage, simply lost total interest in cards, and even started selling some off. I have withdrawals on those I've parted with, and I'm even trying to grab one back now, lol!

If you REALLY arent enjoying your cards, move them on, but if you're not sure, and just feel a little "off", then just chill out and take a break.

As some one who had the same thoughts about a year ago the first thing you need to do is decide how would you feel if you sold off everything. We have all put a lot of time and effort into these collections and perhaps you just need to concentrate on one thing.

For me i decided to just collect the jersey numbered cards, inspired in somewhat by other members on this forum.

After a while, almost 12 months i decide to go with a new set chase and the passion has returned.

So my suggestion is to sit back, take a moment to really think about what you want to do and not rush your decision.

Im there now too! Bored sh!tless with cards almost! And one of the chases I really, really want to dive into is probably out of my price range in a few ways! Im scaling back to one player PC, other then my Hodge PC, and just set chases, or Bulls autos that I like/want... Ive thought about selling everything, including Hodge, but couldnt do it! I just find another hobby/addiction to spend money and time on for a while! hahaha!

You don't need a strong reason to collect certain players but for me it;s absolutely essential. Mashburn reminds me of the days when I started collecting so seeing all these great cards come in which I never could get when I was young keeps it satisfying, there isn't much new stuff of his so Pondexter keeps me interested in the new stuff and he reminds me of what sort of player I used to be and of the places I toured in the USA (drove by his high school and University and home town - all before I started collecting him - i'm not a crazed stalker - purely coincidence your honour!!). Big O represents basketball perfection for me and the other PC guys are continued for my brother who started me not only on collecting cards but basketball too - they represented what basketball meant to him - consumate team players with that will to win. Without these players or these cards I wouldn't even know what basketball was so for me that connection with the cards keeps the passion strong.

For me it would be different if I collected Jason Maxiell or something because I saw a few big dunks or blocks and thought he was going to be a star. If he rides the pine and never cracks the starting 5 or has a down season I'd probably lose interest too. You see a lot of PCs end up on the scrapheap like that.....

Whatever you do, just do it with a good reason in mind and that reason will keep you going....

No, seriously Maso - purely coincidence! I have friends where he grew up and in Seattle was near Washington U and met some guys from there who were telling me all about the program - great guy, good program and a lovely area.... Was just about to collect Derrick Brown and then stumbled across QP and the decision was a no brainer! Like the way he carries himself on and off the court too.

Just jokes :D that's pretty cool to have such close connections over there, that would change my choice of player as well.
